issues in Athens.
• Slaves and foreigners were banned
from participating in the government.

• Women and children could not vote in
Athens but as long as your 18 you can
vote in the United States.
• Foreigners could not vote in the US
which is the same in Athens.
• The president served for 1 year in
Ancient Athens but in the US the
president was in office for 4 years.

• In Athens the people must have time and

• In the USA people must have time to
participate in the government but they
don't need money.
• The United states was like Athens at one
point but in July of 1920 women were
allowed to vote for who runs for office.
