Timeline October 1, 1996 – Internet2 is launched 1997- Inernet2 goes international when Canada joins, and cooperate when Cisco joins. 2000- Internet2 member achieve 831 Mbps of data from Redmond, Washington to Arlington, Virginia in under 82 seconds. 2006 – internet2 celebrates its 10 years with 200 U.S. universities ,70 leading corporations, 45 govt. agencies, 50 international partners.
