The Asian Pacific Islander Program (API) provides culturally appropriate mental health services to Asian residents of Fresno County, California. API is primarily funded by the Mental Health Services Act and Medi-Cal. Services include assessment, therapy, case management, medication support, and referral to day treatment programs. The goals are to assist with recovery, reduce cultural barriers, and connect clients to community resources. At-risk populations served include refugees suffering from trauma and adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders from Southeast Asian backgrounds.
