The Book of Songs
The Warring States period was a time of inner turmoil and widespread chaos in China, in which
independent rebel warlords seized land and power in the absence of a centralized authority. There
existed a desperate need for a solution to effectively stop the interregional conflicts and establish
order in China, and in pursuit of that goal arose the Hundred Schools of Thought. The three primary
schools that were conceived during this ideological flourishing were Confucianism, Taoism, and
Legalism. The principal tenets of Confucianism were illustrated in the Four Books (Great Learning,
Doctrine of the Mean, Analects, and Mencius), classic texts that were selected by the scholar Zhuxi
in the Song dynasty to provide a summary of Confucianism.... Show more content on

They are separated into three sections based on their geographic origin (all of the poems are
either from the feudal states of Zhou, Lu, or Shang). Although these were most likely
commissioned by the kings...to glorify the glory of the Chinese state , they might have been
included in the Book of Songs because of their emphasis on proper ritual and the respect for one
s ancestors, which is basically one of the core values of Confucianism. The Book of Songs was
not only extensively studied by nobles who wanted to succeed in the civil service examinations
and be assigned an government position, but was also revered by the common people for its
manifestation of Confucian values. One of the principal reasons that it amassed such a high level
of popularity was because it included a diverse range of works, from folk to court to religious
songs, that each related in some way to the teachings of Confucius, therefore it also appealed to a
broad spectrum of individuals, including the most noble of the royalty and the poorest of the
farmers. Perhaps the best exemplification of the admiration the Chinese felt towards the Book of
Songs is the writing of the numerous scholarly commentaries, including Confucius himself,
describing what could be known or

The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC)
The internship that I have obtained for the summer months is through Arrowhead Regional
Development Commission (ARDC) in the planning division. At ARDC I held the title of the
Regional Planning Intern. The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission is a multi
disciplined planning and development organization that serves the people of the Arrowhead region
by providing local units of government and citizen groups a means of work cooperatively in
identifying needs, solving problems and fostering local leadership. ARDC is one division located in
Duluth that covers seven counties in Northeast Minnesota. The counties of Aitkin, Saint Louis,

It also trained me how to be a team players with strong communication skills. I learned many real
world and working world skills through this wonderful internship, but I also learned urban
development/planning skills. Almost all of the tasks that I was assigned had to do with urban
development, besides the simple filing/printing jobs that I was assigned. Working with
comprehensive and strategic plans taught me a lot about urban development to be specific.
Comprehensive plans are a document designed to guide the future actions of a community with
long range goals and a vision for the future. These plans work directly with the public, whether it
be actually surveying the public or just observing what does and does not work for their
communities. I was educated about many new things with having a job in the urban world. It is
difficult because there are so many different voices and opinions out there and implementing new
ideas in a community takes time, but it is worth the wait in the end to see the changes that you
executed working within that

Essay on The Development Stage in Cornella Brothers Inc
The development stage in instructional design is an extremely important stage. Without a proper
development plan put in place instructional designers can become easily frustrated and expending
additional hours to do research to put the course in place. This is the stage where the content is not
only written or developed but the content is also organized (University of Idaho, n.d.). It is
imperative that this stage is done correctly so as to deliver information to students that will help
them learn to the fullest and really grasp the information. The following will discuss what happens
in the development stage at Cornella Brothers Inc. when developing a safetymeeting.

When deciding on a safety meeting, managers need to decide what the company needs to address
with their employees and then the Safety Officer at Cornella will create a Power Point or show
pictures of the violations (Work Place Safety Experts, 2010).
Inputting Technology Cornella Brothers is a medium sized family business. The organization is
nowhere near being large enough to have an IT Department. Due to this managers and the safety
officer hold many hats in the organization. The Safety Officer or one of the managers will input the
information into technology. It would be nice to have an IT Department or even an accountant to
do the billing but these tasks falls upon the managers.
Beta Testing There really is no beta test involved in the safety classes. Employees are expected to
follow the guidelines put in place at these classes. Managers will ensure that the employees are
following government regulations and the company s regulations. A part of their employment
obligation is following the safety rules and managers do enforce this. During the classes there is a
discussion period in which employees have the opportunity to voice their concerns or ask questions;
in this way managers can be sure the employees understand what is expected of them and can
respond immediately or discuss pertinent matter further.
Conclusion
At Cornella Brothers, the subject matter experts are the ones who author the

The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection
A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and
many buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become
apparent. Your home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your
feet up, or spend time with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you
buy is safe and in good condition. A home inspectioncan give you this peace of mind, using a visual
inspectionof every aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional
home inspector who has the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems
which may not be readily apparent.
There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to
consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector
been doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How
much experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are
buying? These questions are important, because without adequate experience the inspector may
miss signs of a hidden problem. Choose a home inspection company that exclusively does only
home inspections, and does not just practice this as a sideline to their day job. Ask about the
reports that will be given, will you get a written report, an oral report, or both? Does the home
inspection company have certification? Do they

Bedwetting Research Paper
Bedwetting, or nocturnal enuresis, is involuntary leakage of urine during sleep in children at least
five years old. It is a common childhood condition, with one out of ten, seven year old children
regularly wetting their beds (www.niddk.nih.gov). Enuresis is classified into two categories;
primary: bedwetting in children who have never been dry for extended periods, or secondary: onset
of bedwetting after a period of established continence. The most common is primary enuresis. The
development of enuresis can be multifactorial. The results can be from the over production of urine
at night, reduced capacity of the bladder, the inability to wake up, and genetic factors. Enuresis is
more common in boys, and usually ceases between six and eight

Pros And Cons Of The Scottish Independence Movement
JB Ladera/7 The Scottish Independence Movement is a major controversy in Europe as it can lead
to good or bad outcomes to those involved with it. Both sides, for independence and against
independence, all have their own perspective on the situation, and try to decide the best for the
future of Scotland. Scotlandwants to become independent from the United Kingdom(UK). This
decision could heavily affect their economy and government by having both positive and negative
impacts. Their reason for wanting to leave is because the majority of the United Kingdom voted to
leave the European Union while Scotland did not. Scotland has made voting polls and the two
sides of the poll, the supporters and the critics, are not far from each other. Scotland

On the dawn of October 16th 1962 began a 13 day standoff that would be formally known to the
western world as the Cuban Missile Crisis. Growing tensions between the United States and the
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) resulted in the closest the world has ever been to all

that led up to the missile crisis, the thirteen days the missile crisis took place and the measures

Odysseus In The Odyssey And Calypso, By Suzanne Vega
These characters in the Odyssey are going though some hard times. Because, Odysseus has been
gone for 20 years. His son Telemachus is trying to find him and keep the kingdom in check. Cause
the suitors are trying to take over and marry his mom Penelope. So will they get though this. In the
Odyssey by Homer, the character Odysseusis a war hero from Ithaca, he is motivated by his wife
Penelope and son Telemachus. Homer s stories probably can be traced to historical struggles for
control of the waterway leading from the Aegean Sea to the sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.
Odysseus is trying to find his way home, but he can t get there. In contrast, in Calypso, by
Suzanne Vega, the author provides a different point of view, of Calypso is a immortal who is in
love with Odysseus, Calypso was motivated to control men with her beauty. She kept Odysseus on
her island for 7 years and she was sad about it but she didn t won t to be lonely anymore.... Show

Tragic Hero In Seize The Day
A good number of critics have evaluated Tommy Wilhelm regarding his drawbacks only and have
settled him as a complete failure. Many of them have given him the title of an anti hero. But they
have failed to see the luminous traits of Tommy s character. Tommy, though a failure, possesses
some rare human qualities alien to the denizens of waste land like western civilization rendered arid
and vapid by Mammon worship. The focal point, in this study, is to establish the fact that in spite of
having various negative and un heroic qualities, Tommy, by defying social structure and network,
asserts his non conformity which, along with his humanity, love and philanthropy, aversion for
power and material success and most importantly, his power of overcoming... Show more content on

He writes, In fiction the unnerving rubric anti hero refers to a ragged assembly of victims: the fool,
the clown, the hipster, the criminal, the poor soul, the freak, the outsider, the scapegoat, the scrubby
opportunist, the rebel without a cause, the hero in the ashcan and hero on the lash . Viewed from
the perspective of this definition, we see that Tommy Wilhelm, the protagonist of Saul Bellows
masterpiece Seize the Day seems to be an anti hero. Wilhelm like other Bellovian heroes has the
fatal flaws inherent in his personality; he is an alienated individual living on the margin of the
society (Obaidulla Ahmed, 2001, p.76). Bellow s writing puts a lot of emphasis on the themes of
the individual versus society and individual in self conflict. In his writing, society is always
portrayed as impersonal, mechanical and indifferent to individuals (Dutton, 1982, p.1). In that cruel
society the individual, with his dreams, desires, and ideologies, finds a place for himself, asserts,
his identity, and, most importantly, maintains self

How Does Christianity Affect Australia
The practises, beliefs and values of Christianity and Islam have an impact on Australia society;
however, the media exploits the perceived tension between the two groups which has led to
discrimination and violence. Over many years the way of which an individual lives their life has
been shown to be affected by the religionof which they follow. This affects the way of life
throughout the community surrounding these people, as well as having an impact on the social
issues throughout this particular community. Christianityhas a huge impact throughout Australia,
this includes through schools, dress codes, the way of which people live in their day to day lives.

This defining change in the education system over the last 20 years, has been due to the
modification of the Christian schools throughout Australia (ABC, 2010). This has an influence on
the culture of Australia as it means that this percentage of students have a background of which
religion was required throughout their life, therefore the students learn Christian morals and values.
This may shape the way they live their adult lives in terms of who they vote for, and how they
spend their money as well as the fact that it means that they know the background of Christianity,
having an impact on them and society. Christianity also has a major effect on the laws throughout
Australia, for example a variety of laws have been made in relation to the Ten Commandments.
Similarities are found between the commandments which state that one should not kill, steal or bear
false witness, and the laws written about them. The parliament of Australia is majorly influenced
by Christianity as the original government was made up of the English settlers who all had a
Church of England or Christian background. This then shaped parliament into having a Christian
background. Parliament is also affected depending on the faith of the leader, for example we have
had five Christian Prime Ministers, John Howard being one of them. Howard quoted in

Lifelong Personal Health Data And Application Software Via...
Summary of the academic paper Lifelong personal health data and application software via virtual
machines in the cloud by Van Gorp, P Comuzzi, M
The authors emphases their research on exploring and presenting a novel prototype system which
would provide opportunities for patients to access their Personal Health Records (PHR) regardless
of location and time and, also very importantly to share this information with relevant health
practitioners and institution. They identify that Cloud computing offers unique opportunities for
supporting long term record preservation . The authors further argued that the latest cloud
technology would be the best solution architecturally to access PHR data from virtually any device.
They state that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the radiology case, the authors used real patient data collected over the past 15 years to show
that real savings could be made if patients were able to show their PHR history to every specialist,
as record shows duplication in scan exams. The authors were certain that this indicates that there is
no data integration between different health institutions. In the second use case they refer to the
importance of PHR data privacy, and how this data, if revealed to organizations like employers or
banks could compromise relationships with these institutions. The authors establish that the cloud
setup would meet all requirements extracted from those two use cases: particularly a patient s
ability to share PHR with any medical institution from any physical location and at any time, and
also patients providing and assigning access to relevant health institution whilst ensuring that data
will not be used inappropriately. Based on those requirements, the authors argue that current PHR
systems only meet part of the requirements but not the whole set of them produced from real 2 case
studies From the requirements, the author s derived prototype for MyPHRMachine technical
architecture, requires a Java enabled browser or native RDP client. The authors explain that cloud
technology would be used for MyPHRMachines allowing patients to build

The Native Americans
When the Europeans immigrated to North America they established the Indian Bureau in the War
Department due to the Indian Problem who main goal was to manage the Native Americans.
Disease was a huge epidemic it caused tremendous amounts of Native people to die due to no
immunity to the diseases. The federal government began the Indian Removal of the Native tribes.
From that, the federal government created the boarding schools where they were enculturated by
religion, language, physical features, clothing, and vocational education. The Dawes Act
contributed to 90 million acres of land loss to Native tribes. The 1982 Merian Report contributed to
changing the schoolsystem. The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 began with assimilating the Sioux
nation into the European way of life which effected their health and overall welfare. The Europeans
used the education system to assimilate them into their culture and language. Due to the
assimilation it affected the Sioux people through the NCLB act. In order to decolonize our people
the education system needs respect and to add our cultural side into the pedagogy. In order for
Native students to be successful in school they need to acknowledge how important it is to learn
our culture in schools. The U.S. Indian office supported the schools to be culturally sensitive and
began educating teachers to teach in Native schools. Alaska has experienced the assimilation

Waterfall Methodology Essay
Choosing a proper method for software design is completely depended upon the requirements and
end products of the company. These requirements and goals might change in the process of
development of software depending upon the decisions of stakeholders, developers and system
analysts.
Waterfall life cycle model and Agile methodology are the methods to implement and develop
software. The initial methodology used by company is Waterfall methodology consists of
sequential steps for the designing of software. One can predict cost, duration and requirements of
the project in this method. This method is primarily used when organization knows what the end
product of the project is. Proper planning is required before the start of the project.
But there are some disadvantages of waterfall methodology. One major disadvantage is that
developers cannot go back to the previous step once they have completed the step. If the project
requirements are not satisfied initially then there might be a chance of project failure. It might also
cost budget issues as well as more duration to complete the project. If developers want to make
certain changes in the code of project in between then they again need to start from the beginning to
write the code.
To overcome these disadvantages of waterfall model, Agile methodology is designed. This
methodology uses incremental approach unlike waterfall model which uses sequential steps to
develop software. Incremental approach means processing and testing

into terrific songs of pop and soul. They sang a lot using their voices, it was a good performance.

Occupational Therapy and Clinical Reasoning
Clinical Reasoning Clinical Reasoning is an essential part of the assessment, treatment and
evaluation process in occupational therapy (Neistadt, 1996). This reasoning is the skill set that
the occupational therapist draws from when working with clients in related to function and
performance. Neistadt (1996) suggested that clinical reasoning is the combination of five
interacting components (Ward, 2003). This will be explained in the following essay and
applied to a case study about a girl named Maria. Narrative Reasoning The first form of reasoning
to be used will be the narrative reasoning. This will address Maria s occupational story. It
considers temporal aspects such as the client s history and identifies what needs to change to
accommodate occupational engagement in the future (Neistadt, 1996). Maria is fifteen years old.
Her mother reports that Maria has been performing poorly in school and has withdrawn from her
family. This began after her transition to secondary school. Her performance further deteriorated
when she began second year. Maria stopped participating in a number of her occupations including
hockey, playing the piano, the girl guides, shopping with friends and going to the cinema. She now
prefers to stay on the computer of listening to music. Maria previously had a good relationship
with her younger siblings. However, she has disengaged from these relationships. She has also been

Theme Of Psychoanism In Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights, published by Emily BrontГ« in 1847, tells a story of the history of Wuthering
Heights and the tragic love story that precedes it. The two central settings of the work, Thrushcross
Grange, and Wuthering Heights represent Freud s structural model of the human psyche: the id and
the superego. Because Freud s structural model presents the notion that internal conflict is
inevitable, the two settings illustrate the complexities of the human subconscious and the
characters difficulty in navigating them.
In BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights, the namesake setting of the book represents the Freudian id, by
reason of its primitive aspect in the work. In psychoanalytic theory, the id is responsible for the
primal instincts in humans, and almost always seeks immediate fulfillment. Early on in the novel,
the primal nature of Wuthering Heights exposes itself: the Gothic architecture of the house gives
off a sense of foreboding, the inside of the home lacks conventional furnishings, meat hangs from
the kitchen ceiling, and Lockwood, the narrator, notices a pile of dead rabbits in the living room.
Lockwood calls the atmosphere surrounding the house a tumult to which its station is exposed in
stormy weather (5). The description of the home reveals an underlying barbarity to it, similar to the
id. The darkness in the Heights mirrors location of the id in the human subconscious; the id is
located deep in the recesses of the human mind, so many humans who engage the id have no way to
resist it. The tone of the work shrouds the Heights in an antagonistic darkness, and the lack of
conventionality coupled with the turbulent weather serves as a physical manifestation of the id.
In contrast, Thrushcross Grange represents the superego due to the air of controlled refinement
surrounding the home. Freud s model defines the superego as the part of the mind that acts as a
critical self conscious, reflecting social standards learned through parents and teachers. The refined
nature of the house and its adherence to societal standards shows in its physical appearance. As he
described the appearance of Thrushcross Grange in the novel Heathcliff should have thought
[himself] in heaven , (48). Unlike the Heights, the

end of World War II, North Korea allied with China while South Korea allied with the United States
of America. The Korean Warbegan on 25 June 1950 and eventually, a stalemate occurred where
neither force could advance. The creation of the 38th Parallel resulted in a military demarcation line
and the northern limit line separating the two countries. Ultimately, on 27 July 1953, those
involved signed the Korean Armistice, halting any military provocation but not ending the war. The
country remains isolated and their only real ally currently is China. Meanwhile, over the years the
United States and South Korea have continued to perform semi annual joint exercises together in
preparation for possible North Korean military aggression. This has stirred controversy as the
hermit kingdom views these actions as threatening to the regime s existence. For this reason, North
Korea has initiated provocations within the peninsula by firing intercontinental ballistic missiles
near Guam and over Japan, into the Pacific Ocean. In response to these provocations, United
Nations members voted to go through with sanctions that greatly crippled North Korea from

America Should Spend More on Space Exploration Essay
The United Sates federal government is planning on cutting federal funding for space exploration
and NASA towards the end of the year. The Space Race began in the 1950 s and 1960 s when
Russia sent up the first successful, unmanned satellite named Sputnik in into outer space. The U.S.
response was the creation of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. During this time,
the Soviets sent the first man in to orbit, Yuri Gagarin. Then, in July of 1969, the U.S. took the
lead in the race by sending the first men to the moon on Apollo 11( Space Exploration1). Ever since
then, space exploration has lead to the discovery of much beneficial information that has allowed
us to invent some of the greatest devices we now use today. The... Show more content on

astronaut residencies were able to work together and exchange and deliver supplies and equipment
in order to further space exploration (Horowitz 2). Mir showed that space exploration is no longer
a competition between nations and helped Americans and Russians develop expertise to build and
maintain the space station. Now, this International Space Station is the largest international space
collaboration of all time. 15 countries have all come together to seek to improve life on Earth and
pave the way for future space exploration. The United States needs to work together with these
other nations so we do not become isolated like in the past, ruining our economy. With the help of
these other nations, the U.S. and NASA can make new discoveries in space that may benefit the
way we live today.
NASA has proven that space exploration is the key to the future. Technologies developed by NASA
have been used in many different areas, from agriculture to computer science. These space related
technologies and scientific knowledge have contributed to high performance computing, robotics,
scratch resistant eyeglass lenses, breast cancer imaging, and satellites that support communication,
navigation, weather observation, and other remote sensing disciplines (Horowitz 2). Have you ever
thought how your life would change if NASA never developed the modern cell phone? The
differences would be noticeable immediately. The main argument against space exploration is that,

The Marxist Labor Theory Of Value
As with past articles in this series, this should not be taken as a refutation of each argument rather
it should be read as my comments on each but in this case my thoughts are why they are wrong.
Unlike with Anarcho Capitalists and Black Livers Matters I do not think communists and socialists
(for the purpose of this article I will just use communismas a encompassing umbrella term) offer
any positive to society and because of that should be actively refuted.
1. We need communism because without it workers will be exploited I consider the basis of this
claim, the Marxist Labor Theory of Value, to be the economic equivalent to the flat earth theory.
In essence this claim asserts that because value is objective and the worker creates X amount of
value, say a five dollar widget, that because they were only paid four dollars the capitalist
exploited a dollar of surplus value from them (this surplus value is the source of profit).
This account fails because it is premised on a lie, that value is objective. In reality value is
subjective and because of this reality surplus value is not possible. Profit does not come from
extracting surplus value but rather it comes from delaying consumption, organizing production and
taking risks. Lastly, as in any voluntary exchange, this is not a win lose exchange but rather it is a
win win exchange. Both parties value what they give over what they get. In truth, there is
exploitation but this exploitation goes both ways.

What Is The Mood Of Louisa May Alcott Little Women
Louisa May Alcott is a prominent American Author that captured the hearts of many people with
her heart wrenching stories about family. In her most famous story, Little Women, one can see the
effects of family on one s feelings. It shows that even in the midst of misfortune, one often looks
onto their familyfor emotional support. Sometimes, that time of misfortune can derive from
family troubles in its own. Though not always, the people closest to a person easily have the
ability to influence his or her s feeling or mood, therefore it is clear that one s family has a great
affect on a person s happiness. Even when times are rough, the thought of spending time with a
loved one can brighten one s mood. The passage states, Somehow the sight of the old shoes had a
good effect upon the girls, for Mother was coming ,and everyone brightened to welcome her. In the
excerpt, the sisters were discussing how they were saddened at the fact that they wouldn t receive
any presents for Christmas. However, just the thought of their mother returning home cheered the
girls up, and even influenced them to direct their energy to doing something good for their mother
rather than wallowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This priceless value is revealed in the story through the sister s conversation: I don t think it s fair

an injured sniff. We ve got Father and Mother, and each other, said Beth contentedly from her
corner. The four young faces on which the firelight shone brightened at the cheerful words...
Though presents would give some amusement to the girls, it wouldn t be able to provide the
profound happiness that one s family can create. Sharing an unconditional love in the way a family
does can result in one of the purest forms of joy that the girls felt when realizing the true wealth they

Plasma Spray Coatinging Case Study
пѓ Distances between nozzle of the plasma spray gun and surface has to 100mm to 150mm.
G.The importance of the study
By the end of the proposed project work we can achieve the market demand for the cheap and
efficient feedstock material for plasma spray coating. Because fly ash mechanical properties will
boost both mechanical and thermal substrate properties. And also improve the durability of the
metallic substrate due to improved wear resistances of the substrate. Cost of the feedstock material
can be drastically reduced with the same mechanical and thermal properties provide by standard
feedstock materials. Parallel to use of fly ash material it will help to slow down the use of the non

And also flexible to resolve complicated designs by using high density inert gases to attain high
particle velocity which gains high bond strength. Even with superior advantages it has drawbacks,
mainly the cost factor because feedstock materials are very expensive due pre processing for the
finest outcome. So we got to be using industrial waste fly ash material to 90% cost free feedstock
material. By the investigation of fly ash composition and micro structure it shows terrific
mechanical properties and good wear resistances due contain of oxides which can be utilised as
proactive ceramic coating material and has low thermal conductivity (Satapathy et al, 2009). No pre
processing is needed because of its microstructure has spherical shape that makes the flow ability
easy. Most importantly it s very inexpensive when compared other feedstock materials used in other
thermal spray coating. Because of its exceptional benefits many sectors such as automotive,
construction, other manufacturing fields. As our concerned area is surface engineering we goon
improve the hardness of the substrate by coating ceramic material on the ductile materials.

Jules Ferry s Speech On Imperialism
According to the content section of this chapter Imperialism, means, the subjugation, domination,
and exploitation of almost the entire globe to the economic and political needs of one region
(Europe), a development unprecedented in human history. To a neutral viewer this may appear like
a beneficial idea. During the 1800s and early 1900s, Imperialismwas seen as a benefit to some and
others did not see it as this. Many European nations such as Great Britain, France, Germany,
Belgium, as well as some other nations were gaining land. Many people had opposing views
regarding imperialism. Those who were in favor of imperialism often argued that it was beneficial
based on nationalism, economic gains, the fervor missions of the Christians,... Show more content

Jules Ferry s idea about making the trade better is a great idea, but unfortunately would not work
like he thinks. The other country would not be willingly let imperialists take over. Jule s speech
continues with a response from M. Camille Pelletan, an honorable audience member, he states
What is this civilization which you impose with can non balls? What is it but another form of
barbarism? Don t these populations, these inferior races, have the same rights as you? Aren t they
masters of their own houses? (258). Pelletan jeers and condemns Ferry, but Ferry sticks to his racist
ideas and continues to put the inferior races under him. Ferry continues to talk about the superiority
he thinks Europe has over everyone. He states, Gentlemen, I must speak from a higher and more
truthful plane. (258). Ferry is showing that he thinks he is superior to those he is speaking to and
sees himself as a superior to others and that he is above the inferiors. He then continues to make it
clear that superiors have control over the inferiors, It must be stated openly that, in effect, superior
races have rights over inferior races. (258). Throughout his speech, Ferry tries to show what the
positives of Imperialism is, but does not acknowledge the negatives for the expansion and take over
of certain territories.

How Does Orwell Use Intelligence In Animal Farm
They explained that by their studies of the past three months the pigs had succeeded in reducing the
principles of Animalism to Seven Commandments (Orwell 24). This passage from the book
suggests that the pigs are completely in charge of Animal Farm, and they use their intelligence to
create the Seven Commandments, and rule the farm This moment is the beginning of the pigs reign
over AnimalFarm. Although it may look like Orwell shows the pigs using their intelligence for the
well being and prosperity of Animal Farm, he is actually using techniques like simile, metaphor,
and imagery, to portray that they are using their intelligence incorrectly. The pigs in Animal Farm

The mystery of where the milk went to was soon cleared up. It was mixed every day into the
pigs mash (Orwell 35). The milk and apples of the farm had been mysteriously disappearing, but
it turns out that the pigs had been smuggling them in all along. We pigs are brainworkers. The
whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching
over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink milk and eat those apples (Orwell 36). It is
implied in Squealer s quote that the pigs stealing of the milk and apples can be justified, because it
is for the well being of the animals. This is evidence of the pigs incorrect use of intelligence
leading to corruption. In addition to this, the pigs brainwashing of the animals is evident in the
character Boxer. Orwell uses imagery to depict Boxer s loyalty to Napoleon and his dullness.
His two slogans, I will work harder and Napoleon is always right, seemed to him a sufficient
answer to all his problems (Orwell 61). In other words, Boxer motivates himself by saying things
like Napoleon is always right, and I will work harder. Boxer never questions anything on the farm,
because apparently to him , Napoleon is always right. This is evidence of the pigs brainwashing of
the animals, because animals like Boxer always believe the pigs no matter what they

Rion Amalcar Scott s The Etiquette Of Police Brutality
Patrick and Hall in In Defense of Self and Others write, If effective law enforcement is to be
maintained, the race must not be to the swift. The fleeing criminal, regardless of his offense, must
be considered the author of his own misfortune. Policemen only use force in response to the
situation they are in. Day to day Policemen and women have to make difficult choices. The
decisions they make often lead to controversy. Two sides are then created. On one side, there are
people that believe police are bullies that do as they wish; the other side believes officers act as
they see fit and do the best they can to keep the public out of harm s way. The Etiquette of Police

He also starts with how he read about cases of police brutality that mostly involved Black and
Brown suspects. This informative piece s purpose is to show how police officers continue to
use excessive force without consequences. With the recent number of police shootings involving
black Americans, Scott sees police as bullies that do whatever necessary to get their way, so he
uses the text to show them in that light. The few statistics that Scott uses are from credible
sources, but the rest of the writing is purely anecdotal. He relies almost entirely on emotional
appeals. In many of the above cases, such as the Chamberlain case, police were cleared of any
wrongdoing or faced relatively light or unspecified punishments, a situation that I imagine
leaves police feeling comfortable in deploying any act of violence in their toolbox, no matter
how reckless, if it leaves them standing when all the smoke from the gunfire has cleared.
However, for much of the populace, that knot in their chests when a squad car sidles up next to
them in traffic is the twinge of sheer terror. Scott does not do much to set up how credible he is in
the text. Without using facts and evidence or speaking from personal experience, Scott s writing
lacks ethos. However, Scott s writing does do a good job in showing officers in a completely
different light than how Bolgiano portrays them. When assessing a law enforcement officer s use of

Monitoring Employees
When it comes to monitoring employees in the workplace, there are advantages for the employer
to do this, but there are also disadvantages of monitoring employees. Some of the most immediate
advantages to monitoring employees is that most likely job performance will be improved
because if an employee is being monitored and they know they will not try and do things that are
not company related. Another thing that monitoring work emails would help is sexual harassment
because if someone knows that their email is being recorded and or watched they would not even
try to do that to another coworker. The employer could see if their employees are actually doing
their work. Then finally, if a employer monitors emails it can help them not be liable

Since this prejudice and hatred is taught in our school systems many times it stays with us until
adulthood and is incorporated into our laws. Laws such as Proposition 8 which was proposed in
California explicitly targeted LGBTI individuals. This law said only marriage between a man
and a woman is valid or recognized in California (Colombo, p. 81). LGBTI people and their
families were increasingly targeted and became the victims of physical harm and discrimination
when the Proposition 8 bill was launched (Colombo, p. 85). The ignorance taught in schools that
later leaks into laws damage the equality that American society stands by. Instead, ignorance
maintains separation and lowers our intelligence. Another part of society that is part of human
nature is the need to categorize others to make sense of and interpret others. When a person is
born the doctor interprets their sex as either boy or girl depending on which genital organs they
possess. The problem with this sex assignment at birth is that it leaves no room for ambiguity
which is sometimes needed in cases of intersex and transgender individuals. Without knowing the
true gender of a child we put them into a category before we even know if they fit. For example,
David Reimer who was born male was reassigned as a female after an accident during circumcision
occurred (Colombo, p. 554). Doctors believed that reassignment would be best because many
believe gender identity is taught.

The Impact Of Iso 14001 On Asian Firms
THE IMPACT OF ISO 14001 ON ASIAN FIRMS
1, Challenging World of Business in Asia
Firms in developed countries have been faced with increasing amounts of pressure to manage and
evaluate the impact of their activities on environment as the impacts went well beyond local and
regional levels since around the 1970s. Following the developed countries, the same concern has
become increasingly obvious in Asia as most of Asian industries have been developed through the
export driven style economy and this has made them to do their economic activities in conformity
with international standards. In order to reach better profitability and international competitiveness,
firms in Asia have been facing the challenges of operating their business without damaging the
environment and their corporate finances.
The Asian continent enjoys a very rich mixture of complex cultures and this complexity is reflected
in their economic, political, legal and business systems. Most Southeast Asian countries developed
through primarily agricultural economies where industrial production has a limited influence until
about 30 years ago (Oosterveer, Kamolsiripichaiporn and Rasiah 2006, p. 217). As industrial
production increased rapidly over the last decades, the number of NIEs, newly industrialised
economies, in the region has expanded to include countries such as Malaysia, Thai and Indonesia.

make them aware of other activities and possibilities other than television then your child will
get bored, but if they have ideas and you help them find something to do they will like it just as
much, if not more than television. Lastly, if you have a child you need to take the responsibility
and realize you won t get as much work done. Those parents who turn the television on for their
kids just to get them out of their sight so they can do what they need to do are wrong. A quiet
time for mom and/ or dad is appropriate and a television show or two during that time is
acceptable, but when the television is turned on hour after hour to allow the parent time to do their

While the children are glued to the televisions, what are they watching? Are they watching Dora,
which is an educational show, or are they watching the power rangers or a show promoting
weapons and violence. Today, children are watching these violent programs and are being
affected without even knowing it. Psychological research has shown three major effects of seeing
violence on television: children may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others,
children may be more fearful of the world around them, and children may be more likely to behave

Examples Of Anti-Transcendentalism In Moby Dick
Introduction The Anti Transcendentalism movement was a movement against all conventional
beliefs. A participant in this movement was Herman Melville, most famous for his novel Moby
Dick. Moby Dick highlights the journey of an obsessive quest to find a whale. The obsessive quest
leads Ishmael, the main character, to his death because he tries to work against the forces of nature,
which expresses some of Melville s Anti Transcendentalist beliefs through this particular novel. The
Anti Transcendentalists or the American Gothic writers emphasized two major themes: the
destructive power of nature and the dark side of the human mind, and paved the way for modern
horror stories.
The Power of Nature Once a person becomes attached or obsessed to a specific person, place, or
even an idea, it is extremely difficult to expel this obsession. Ishmael becomes attached to Moby
Dick. He does not execute a single action or take a simple breathe without thinking of this whale.
Ishmael s obsession with this whale is to taken to such an extent that he is willing to venture
through extreme obstacles out on the sea just to murder the whale that is responsible for his
missing leg. As always, the power of nature overcomes the ignorance of man. Nature does what
nature wants. No one gets to tell nature what to do, it is one of the only aspects of life we truly are
incapable of controlling. When we hear a hurricane warning, and most sensible people will take
precautions, those who do not,

Importance Of 21st Century Teaching And Learning
21st Century teaching and learning is about transforming educational practices to equip students
with the skills and know how they will need to navigate life in the 21st century. Bolstad, Gilbert,
McDowell, Bull, Boyd and Hopkins argue that 21st century learning and teaching can be
considered as an emerging cluster of new ideas, beliefs, knowledge, theories and practices (Bolstad
et. al., 2012, p. 1). In the Industrial age of thinking the educationsystem was modelled on a factory
assembly line and the role of the educator was to prepare students for the industrial workforce.
However, we are now living in the age coined the Knowledge era, where new information is
rapidly being created every day and job markets are shifting and expanding; the top jobs in 2012,
didn t exist in 2002 (EF Explore America, 2012). Because society is undergoing change at an
alarming rate creating new ideas, beliefs, knowledge, theories and practices, the role of education
is becoming unclear. Leaders across the globe are calling for students to have more sophisticated
skills such as evaluating and analysing information and thinking critically and creatively to solve
real world problems (Silva, 2008). Therefore, 21st centurylearningmethods are child centred and
have a focus on innovation, collaboration, exploration, cultural awareness, creativity and problem
solving, so that children will be ready for the future and whatever it may bring.
Traditional education was modelled on the industrial age

Throughout his lifetime, Gauss made discoveries which would benefit many fields within
mathematics. Gauss contributed greatly to the fields of arithmetic, statistics, geometry, algebra, and
astronomy. The origin of this famed mathematician began in Brunswick, Germanyon April 30th in
the year of 1777. Gauss had humble beginnings, and lived in a small house with his parents.
Gauss s parents were both peasant laborers, which was expressed by the local dialect they spoke
(West 15 16). Gauss s father, Gebhard Dietrich Gauss, worked in various areas; he worked as a
brick layer, gardener, canal tender, street butcher, and accountant for funeral society (West 16).
Gauss s mother, when she was Dorothea Benze, worked for seven years as a maid before she
married Gebhard. Gauss was Dorothea s only child, but he had a half brother, Johann George
Heinrich, who was the son of Gauss s father from an earlier marriage (West 16). Gauss was an
intelligent child, and at the age of three, he corrected an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea is despite how meticulously an item is measured in order to receive the correct
measurement, one is likely to observe different lengths each time something is measured. If one
takes a measurement x amount of times, the lengths will likely be similar in value, but they will
not all be equal. Therefore, the true value is unknown. Gauss developed a formula in which all the
desired measurements are taken and the optimal true value can be calculated. Today, statisticians
use the Method of Least Squares when they need to measure errors; the formula allows them to

Comparing The Voice, The Revolution, And The Key
I read The Voice, The Revolution, and The Key (650 pages!) in 3 large chunks. The book was
split into four acts that spanned 25 years. The plot progresses smoothly. It shows how America
became rebellious gradually. There is some mystery, some drama, and humor too. The story tells
us about Patrick Henry s family and his life as a kid. Additionally, it potrays the multiple conflicts
across the frontier. Gillamon and Clarie are spiritual animals in the Order of the Seven that give
missions and help on them too. Because it is fantasy, Gillamon and Clarie can tamper with history
because of their ability to shapeshift and time travel. Cato is an eagle, and he helps them get around
while not knowing the Order of the Seven are immortal. The enemy

United States Dollar as Reserve Currency
In February of 2011, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) shocked the world by calling for
the United States dollar to be replaced as the global world currency (Rooney, 2011). In one
report, the world s dirty little monetary secret had been exposed; faith in the US dollar was
faltering. Since then, international attitudes toward the US dollar have only gotten worse. With
2013 debt at approximately 105 percent of gross domestic product and a negative outlook rating
from Standard s and Poor, the United States is looking like an insolvent bank no one wants to
keep their money in. In addition, the dollar has lost 97 percent of its value since being taken off
the gold standard in 1971 (Mack, 2011). This makes holding the dollar long term a... Show more

While it is said the dollar is now back by the full faith and credit of the United States, this faith
and credit is largely treasury bonds, or debt, much of which are held overseas by foreign
governments. Ever since the US dollar went off the gold standard in 1971, other countries have
had doubts about keeping the dollar as the world s reserve currency. The first concern was that no
fiat currency has succeeded long term. In a study of 775 fiat currencies (Mack, 2011), there was
no historical precedence for a fiat currency that has succeeded in holding its value. 20 percent
failed through hyperinflation, 21 percent were destroyed by war, 12 percent destroyed by
independence, 24 percent were monetarily reformed, and 23 percent are still in circulation
approaching one of the other outcomes (Mack, 2011). The average life expectancy for a fiat
currency is 27 years, with the shortest life span being one month (Mack, 2011). It is one thing if
an individual country s fiat currency collapses, but if a world reserve currency collapses, such as
the US dollar, the world s economy will collapse with it.
Another issue is the dramatic drop in the value in the dollar. As stated earlier, the US dollar has
lost 97 percent of its value since being taken off the gold standard in 1971 (Mack, 2011). Not only
does a weaker dollar translate into a cut in the real spending power of American consumers, it
makes the dollar a very poor investment for investors and central banks around the

Bankruptcy and Insurance Case Studies
Scenario 1 Chapter 7 bankruptcy is available to Celia for her credit card debt and in some
circumstances for including her student loans (Forgiveness, Cancellation, and Discharge) (Twomey
Jennings, 2014, p. 747). The discharge of student loans in bankruptcy is rare (Forgiveness,
Cancellation, and Discharge). Direct loans, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, and
Perkins Loans can be discharged if all of the three following circumstances are met (Forgiveness,
Cancellation, and Discharge).
1.Celia will be unable to maintainable a minimum standard of living if forced to pay the student
loans (Forgiveness, Cancellation, and Discharge).
2.It is evident that the loan repayment hardship will continue throughout the life of the loan
(Forgiveness, Cancellation, and Discharge).
3.Celia made an effort in good faith to repay the loans for a minimum of five years before declaring
bankruptcy (Forgiveness, Cancellation, and Discharge).
As Celia only made payment for two years and not the required five years as required by good faith
she will not be eligible for the student loans to be discharges just her unsecured credit card debt
(Forgiveness, Cancellation, and Discharge). Assuming Celia had attempted to pay her student loans
the bankruptcy court must decide if these circumstances have been met through the means test
(Twomey Jennings, 2014, p. 749). Under the means test disposable income is determine by the

Dysfunctional Family Essay
A dysfunctional family is a group of people usually related by some means, not always necessarily
by blood, in which conflict, misbehavior, maltreatment and neglecting create a hostile life for its
members. To explain this idea better we will see the definition of family, the differences between a
healthy and a dysfunctional family; their characteristics and behavioral patterns. Some examples
will help us examine this issue better, taking us to discuss the different factors that contribute to the
formation of such families, along with its consequences in today s society.
According to the Dictionary of Contemporary English, a family is a group of people affiliated by
consanguinity, formed by a father, a mother and children. On the other... Show more content on

A family dysfunction can be any condition that impedes its proper rhythm. Most families have some
periods of time when functioning is impaired by stressful circumstances, for instance: death, illness,
unemployment, finances, stress, work, school, etc. Moreover, healthy families tend to return to
normal functioning after the crisis passes. In dysfunctional families, however, problems tend to be
chronic.
A healthy family is not perfect; there may be misunderstandings, tensions, conflicts, yelling, hurt
and anger, but not always. Emotional expression is allowed; and it s acceptable to get mad
sometimes, as long as it s not all the time. The Holy Bible teaches on Ephesians 4 23 Be ye angry
and sin not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath . Also, in a healthy family, rules tend to be
explicit and are consistent, but with some flexibility to adapt to individual needs and particular
situations. Ephesians 6 4 exemplifies this idea with the following verse: And you, fathers, do not
provoke your children to wrath .
Children are treated with respect, and do not fear emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse. On
the contrary, they feel safe, as they know that their parents are there to protect them and to look
after their well being. These children are given responsibilities appropriate to their age and are not
expected to

Kenneth O Reilly s Racial Matters Essay
Kenneth O Reilly s Racial Matters
In his book Racial Matters, Kenneth O Reilly presented the facts as he sees them, with little
interpretation. He delivered a sharp historical account of the unconstitutional methods the Federal
Bureau of Investigation used to weaken and destroy what it labeled to be subversive groups in
defense of its ideal of America. O Reilly saw the role J. Edgar Hoover played to be essential to the
manner in which the FBI illegally refused to protect Black lives and persecute Black organizations
during the civil rights movement. The events described in Racial Matters, could be prevented in the
future, if people became more aware of the involvement their own government had in the systematic
destruction of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However damaging Hoover was to the civil rights movement, our nation s number one elected
official, the president, aided him in three consecutive terms.
People must critically analyze the events which take place in America and fight against injustice
when they see it. Hoover fought against militant Black groups because they represented a threat to
public safety. However, the rise of such groups as the Black Panther Partywas the direct result of
the perceived, and realistic failure of nonviolent groups, which Hoover was responsible for creating.
The FBI fed internal tensions and rivalries which made it harder for the movement to create a
united front, leaked derogatory information on activists to the media which dissuaded others from
joining, and disseminated derogatory information to federal officials which led to a lessened
commitment to protect civil rights workers (358) This obviously created many problems for the
civil rights struggle. However, the manner in which Hoover treated nonviolent and violent means of
resistance was the same. FBI officials pursued the most prominent proponents of violent resistance
to White racism with the same zeal that had characterized their pursuit of the most prominent
proponent of nonviolence (293). Thus people should have been aware of

Causes Of Crimes Against Humanity Essay
We know crimes against humanity as a deliberate criminal act or acts that are typically part of a
systematic campaign which causes human suffering or death on a large scale. The acts are an
attack on human dignity where the crimes can be committed during times of war and peace.
Offences that come under this category include murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation or
forcible transfer of a population, imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty,
torture, sexual violence, persecution against any identifiable group or collective, enforced
disappearance of persons and other inhumane acts of a similar character and gravity1,2,3.
I have decided to examine sexual violence and in particular the motivations behind such crimes that
constitute as sexual violence; this encompasses crimes such as rape, sexual slavery, enforced
prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of
comparable gravity1,2,3,. In particular I am going to examine sexual violence in reference to the
conflict in former Yugoslavia, known as the Bosnian war.
The Bosnian War of 1992 1995 was a major conflict that was seen to be politically and racially
motivated between the Serbian s, Croatian s and Bosnian s. During this time the Serbian s were
participating in an illegal conflict by being in violation of the Geneva conventions, customary laws,
as well as committing odious offences that we know as crimes against humanity4.

The Consequences Of Love In Wuthering Heights And A Storm...
Love and war are exactly alike. It is lawful to use tricks and slights to obtain a desired end. (Don
Quixote. Cervantes. Part II Chapter 21). The spark of love can be compared to that of an actual
fire, one constructed slowly with proper materials will have a long lasting flame; one built with
improper materials will burn with blitz, or not at all. The consequences of loveare always
overlooked, as the flame it creates is blinding. Love is the Achilles heel of a character s honour.
It s force allows impossible, or forbidden relationships between relatives, opposing personalities
or opposing sides. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet could have never lead a platonic relationship,
raised on opposing sides to hate each other; it is the power of love that allowed such a relationship
to form. The same goes for characters in Wuthering Heightsand A Storm of Swords. It blinds to the
consequences of breaking vows and rules, and forsaking honour. In George R.R. Martin s A Storm
of Swords, and Emily BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights, ill fated relationships lead to feuds waged,
broken families, and ultimately death, because a vow or rule was broken, thereby demonstrating the
immense repercussions of dishonour.
In A Storm of Swords, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark are married to, or betrothed to
another. They run off together, dishonouring themselves, their partners, and their houses; leading to
war, devastation, and the death of themselves and their families. Rhaegar swore a vow

Community structure are species interacting within the communities and create food chains.
Evolution brings change in relationships as species adapt to one another through the coevolution
process. The elements of an biotic community is the pyramid structure which is made up of levels.
The food chain passes food energy from one level to another and this energy is chemical or
photosynthesis. The pyramid base has the producers and take this energy to produce organic
organisms from the inorganic ones. The consumers depend on these producers indirectly or directly.
The base pyramid level is different from one community to another. A terrestrial community plants
that are multicellular make the base, where as lakes that are freshwater it takes a combination of
algae that is single celled and plants that are multicellular. Freshwater streams does not have living
plants but detritus for an energy base and plankton builds the oceans.

Manfred, Self-Obortion In The Chamois Hunter
Manfred s autonomy develops through two phases in the poem, moving from somewhat
dependent to completely independent after Astarte refuses to show him forgiveness. Phase one
of Manfred s is best described by his search for an outside relief from the guilt he bares because
of Astarte. He begins by summoning the seven spirits in the hopes that they will have some
reprieve from his suffering by a way other than death, which he describes as, oblivion, self
oblivion (Act 1, 144 146). The spirits cannot insure this to Manfred for it is a concept they
themselves cannot fully comprehend: We are immortal and do not forget (Act 1, 149).
Unsatisfied with this answer Manfred tries to impart his own relief by committing suicide (Act
1, 109). However, during this act he still seeks an escape dictated by an outside power, such as
the eagle he sees: Well thou swoop so near me I should be thy prey and gorge thine eaglets (Act
1, 32 33). The Chamois Hunter interrupts this attempt forcing Manfred to continue on his
journey of seeking a remedy. Manfred grows stronger in his confidence of independent
autonomy after this incident. When he summons the Witch and she presents him with the
possibility of relieving his suffering if he will swear obedience to [her] will and do [her] bidding
she will provide him an escape (Act 2, 155 157). Manfred readily refuses this and and states the he
will never be the slave of those who served [him] (Act 2, 158 160). This only grows when Manfred

The Role Of Sex Work And Sex Trafficking
Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons, is a crime where people profit from the
exploitation of others through some form of labor (Polaris, 2015). Sex trafficking, is a crime
throughout the world, and the United States is no exception. Taking a domestic approach to study
gender and sex trafficking, or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how
people do gender while being a part of this industry. Examining the structure of gender in society
with regard to sex work and sex trafficking sheds light on how the system works and how it is
perpetuated.
To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex
trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber,
1994; Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are
commonly trafficked for domestic service and sex industries. Sex trafficking is beneficial because it
s very profitable and is occurring around the globe. The industrialization of the sex trafficking and
its globalization are fundamental factors that make contemporary prostitution qualitatively different
from the prostitution of yesterday. Consumers in the economic North now have access to young
and exotic girls, very young bodies around the world. These beautiful young ladies come from
countries like, Brazil, Cuba, Russia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Vietnam, Nicaragua. The sex
industry is diversified, sophisticated,

Roles Of The Khilafat Movement

ROLE OF PRINT MEDIA:
In the sub continent, journalism began with manually written news sheets, arranged by government
news authors at the time when Muslims were ruling. They were composed, dated, showed up at
general and customary intervals.
With the ruin of Mughal rule, Britain began hostile attack into the subcontinent. Wherever
contempt for British surfaced, individuals began exclusive manually written papers keeping in

It was a pan Islamic movement between 1919 till 1924. Some of the great journalists of that time
like Maulana Mohammad Ali Johar and his brother Maulana Shaukat Ali worked very hard for this
cause with lots of other important personalities. The Muslim press and newspapers also played an
important role amongst the Muslims about the importance of the Khilafat Movement. Initially the
movement was quite successful through strikes and protests all over India but this movement
could not gain a lot of success in the long run. However, the role of Muslim press during that time
would always be remembered in history with golden words.
Although the Khilafat Movement was not a success, it united the Muslims of Sub continent and
injected a new spirit amongst them which was the real energy behind the independence movement
later on.
ROLE IN ALL INDIA MUSLIM LEAGUE:

Biology Of The Cannabis Genomic Research Initiative
Learning information has engaged and interested me throughout the courses I have taken; however,
the opportunity to discover new information through research is one of my most intellectually
stimulating experiences. With my goal to learn as much as possible under Dr. Nolan Kane, the
Professional Investigator of the CannabisGenomic Research Initiative (CGRI), I have expanded my
traditional bench lab experience to bioinformatics, hempbreeding, and leading designing and
performing my own project examining differential protein expression in Cannabis. Although I am
deeply fascinated by a four letter code that encodes the human body, I am also providing myself the
freedom within my research to learn about other organisms and genetic diseases that I hope to treat
within my career.
My longest ongoing project began in October 2014 under the guidance of Dr. Daniela Vergara, a
post doctoral researcher of the CGRI, who helped another undergraduate student and I begin to
troubleshoot a protocol for a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). The goal of this experiment was
to analyze variation between strains of Cannabis in a region of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
Synthase Gene that was amplified by another research team s primer set. The published protocol
was originally unsuccessful when attempting to be reproduced. My colleague and I had applied for
the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program Grant, which funded our research to determine a
successful protocol for this PCR. However, near

  • 2. The Book of Songs The Warring States period was a time of inner turmoil and widespread chaos in China, in which independent rebel warlords seized land and power in the absence of a centralized authority. There existed a desperate need for a solution to effectively stop the interregional conflicts and establish order in China, and in pursuit of that goal arose the Hundred Schools of Thought. The three primary schools that were conceived during this ideological flourishing were Confucianism, Taoism, and Legalism. The principal tenets of Confucianism were illustrated in the Four Books (Great Learning, Doctrine of the Mean, Analects, and Mencius), classic texts that were selected by the scholar Zhuxi in the Song dynasty to provide a summary of Confucianism.... Although these were most likely commissioned by the kings...to glorify the glory of the Chinese state , they might have been included in the Book of Songs because of their emphasis on proper ritual and the respect for one s ancestors, which is basically one of the core values of Confucianism. The Book of Songs was not only extensively studied by nobles who wanted to succeed in the civil service examinations and be assigned an government position, but was also revered by the common people for its manifestation of Confucian values. One of the principal reasons that it amassed such a high level of popularity was because it included a diverse range of works, from folk to court to religious songs, that each related in some way to the teachings of Confucius, therefore it also appealed to a broad spectrum of individuals, including the most noble of the royalty and the poorest of the farmers. Perhaps the best exemplification of the admiration the Chinese felt towards the Book of Songs is the writing of the numerous scholarly commentaries, including Confucius himself, describing what could be known or ... The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) The internship that I have obtained for the summer months is through Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) in the planning division. At ARDC I held the title of the Regional Planning Intern. Almost all of the tasks that I was assigned had to do with urban development, besides the simple filing/printing jobs that I was assigned. Working with comprehensive and strategic plans taught me a lot about urban development to be specific. Comprehensive plans are a document designed to guide the future actions of a community with long range goals and a vision for the future. These plans work directly with the public, whether it be actually surveying the public or just observing what does and does not work for their communities. I was educated about many new things with having a job in the urban world. It is difficult because there are so many different voices and opinions out there and implementing new ideas in a community takes time, but it is worth the wait in the end to see the changes that you executed working within that ... • 4. Essay on The Development Stage in Cornella Brothers Inc The development stage in instructional design is an extremely important stage. Without a proper development plan put in place instructional designers can become easily frustrated and expending additional hours to do research to put the course in place. This is the stage where the content is not only written or developed but the content is also organized (University of Idaho, n.d.). It is imperative that this stage is done correctly so as to deliver information to students that will help them learn to the fullest and really grasp the information. The following will discuss what happens in the development stage at Cornella Brothers Inc. when developing a safetymeeting. Authoring Content The person who authors the content for safety ... When deciding on a safety meeting, managers need to decide what the company needs to address with their employees and then the Safety Officer at Cornella will create a Power Point or show pictures of the violations (Work Place Safety Experts, 2010). Due to this managers and the safety officer hold many hats in the organization. The Safety Officer or one of the managers will input the information into technology. It would be nice to have an IT Department or even an accountant to do the billing but these tasks falls upon the managers. Beta Testing There really is no beta test involved in the safety classes. Employees are expected to follow the guidelines put in place at these classes. Managers will ensure that the employees are following government regulations and the company s regulations. A part of their employment obligation is following the safety rules and managers do enforce this. During the classes there is a discussion period in which employees have the opportunity to voice their concerns or ask questions; in this way managers can be sure the employees understand what is expected of them and can respond immediately or discuss pertinent matter further. • 5. The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and many buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become apparent. Your home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your feet up, or spend time with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you buy is safe and in good condition. A home inspectioncan give you this peace of mind, using a visual inspectionof every aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional home inspector who has the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems which may not be readily apparent. There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector been doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How much experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are buying? These questions are important, because without adequate experience the inspector may miss signs of a hidden problem. Choose a home inspection company that exclusively does only home inspections, and does not just practice this as a sideline to their day job. Ask about the reports that will be given, will you get a written report, an oral report, or both? Does the home inspection company have certification? Do they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a common childhood condition, with one out of ten, seven year old children regularly wetting their beds (www.niddk.nih.gov). Enuresis is classified into two categories; primary: bedwetting in children who have never been dry for extended periods, or secondary: onset of bedwetting after a period of established continence. The most common is primary enuresis. The development of enuresis can be multifactorial. The results can be from the over production of urine at night, reduced capacity of the bladder, the inability to wake up, and genetic factors. • 10. Tragic Hero In Seize The Day A good number of critics have evaluated Tommy Wilhelm regarding his drawbacks only and have settled him as a complete failure. Many of them have given him the title of an anti hero. But they have failed to see the luminous traits of Tommy s character. Tommy, though a failure, possesses some rare human qualities alien to the denizens of waste land like western civilization rendered arid and vapid by Mammon worship. The focal point, in this study, is to establish the fact that in spite of having various negative and un heroic qualities, Tommy, by defying social structure and network, asserts his non conformity which, along with his humanity, love and philanthropy, aversion for power and material success and most importantly, his power of overcoming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He writes, In fiction the unnerving rubric anti hero refers to a ragged assembly of victims: the fool, the clown, the hipster, the criminal, the poor soul, the freak, the outsider, the scapegoat, the scrubby opportunist, the rebel without a cause, the hero in the ashcan and hero on the lash . Viewed from the perspective of this definition, we see that Tommy Wilhelm, the protagonist of Saul Bellows masterpiece Seize the Day seems to be an anti hero. Wilhelm like other Bellovian heroes has the fatal flaws inherent in his personality; he is an alienated individual living on the margin of the society (Obaidulla Ahmed, 2001, p.76). Bellow s writing puts a lot of emphasis on the themes of the individual versus society and individual in self conflict. In his writing, society is always portrayed as impersonal, mechanical and indifferent to individuals (Dutton, 1982, p.1). In that cruel society the individual, with his dreams, desires, and ideologies, finds a place for himself, asserts, his identity, and, most importantly, maintains self ... How Does Christianity Affect Australia The practises, beliefs and values of Christianity and Islam have an impact on Australia society; however, the media exploits the perceived tension between the two groups which has led to discrimination and violence. Over many years the way of which an individual lives their life has been shown to be affected by the religionof which they follow. This affects the way of life throughout the community surrounding these people, as well as having an impact on the social issues throughout this particular community. This defining change in the education system over the last 20 years, has been due to the modification of the Christian schools throughout Australia (ABC, 2010). This has an influence on the culture of Australia as it means that this percentage of students have a background of which religion was required throughout their life, therefore the students learn Christian morals and values. This may shape the way they live their adult lives in terms of who they vote for, and how they spend their money as well as the fact that it means that they know the background of Christianity, having an impact on them and society. Christianity also has a major effect on the laws throughout Australia, for example a variety of laws have been made in relation to the Ten Commandments. Similarities are found between the commandments which state that one should not kill, steal or bear false witness, and the laws written about them. The parliament of Australia is majorly influenced by Christianity as the original government was made up of the English settlers who all had a Church of England or Christian background. This then shaped parliament into having a Christian background. Parliament is also affected depending on the faith of the leader, for example we have had five Christian Prime Ministers, John Howard being one of them. Howard quoted in ... In the second use case they refer to the importance of PHR data privacy, and how this data, if revealed to organizations like employers or banks could compromise relationships with these institutions. The authors establish that the cloud setup would meet all requirements extracted from those two use cases: particularly a patient s ability to share PHR with any medical institution from any physical location and at any time, and also patients providing and assigning access to relevant health institution whilst ensuring that data will not be used inappropriately. Based on those requirements, the authors argue that current PHR systems only meet part of the requirements but not the whole set of them produced from real 2 case studies From the requirements, the author s derived prototype for MyPHRMachine technical architecture, requires a Java enabled browser or native RDP client. From that, the federal government created the boarding schools where they were enculturated by religion, language, physical features, clothing, and vocational education. The Dawes Act contributed to 90 million acres of land loss to Native tribes. The 1982 Merian Report contributed to changing the schoolsystem. The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 began with assimilating the Sioux nation into the European way of life which effected their health and overall welfare. The Europeans used the education system to assimilate them into their culture and language. Due to the assimilation it affected the Sioux people through the NCLB act. In order to decolonize our people the education system needs respect and to add our cultural side into the pedagogy. In order for Native students to be successful in school they need to acknowledge how important it is to learn our culture in schools. • 17. Waterfall Methodology Essay Choosing a proper method for software design is completely depended upon the requirements and end products of the company. These requirements and goals might change in the process of development of software depending upon the decisions of stakeholders, developers and system analysts. Waterfall life cycle model and Agile methodology are the methods to implement and develop software. The initial methodology used by company is Waterfall methodology consists of sequential steps for the designing of software. One can predict cost, duration and requirements of the project in this method. This method is primarily used when organization knows what the end product of the project is. Proper planning is required before the start of the project. But there are some disadvantages of waterfall methodology. One major disadvantage is that developers cannot go back to the previous step once they have completed the step. If the project requirements are not satisfied initially then there might be a chance of project failure. It might also cost budget issues as well as more duration to complete the project. If developers want to make certain changes in the code of project in between then they again need to start from the beginning to write the code. To overcome these disadvantages of waterfall model, Agile methodology is designed. This methodology uses incremental approach unlike waterfall model which uses sequential steps to develop software. Incremental approach means processing and testing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Occupational Therapy and Clinical Reasoning Clinical Reasoning Clinical Reasoning is an essential part of the assessment, treatment and evaluation process in occupational therapy (Neistadt, 1996). This reasoning is the skill set that the occupational therapist draws from when working with clients in related to function and performance. Neistadt (1996) suggested that clinical reasoning is the combination of five interacting components (Ward, 2003). This will be explained in the following essay and applied to a case study about a girl named Maria. Narrative Reasoning The first form of reasoning to be used will be the narrative reasoning. This will address Maria s occupational story. It considers temporal aspects such as the client s history and identifies what needs to change to accommodate occupational engagement in the future (Neistadt, 1996). Maria is fifteen years old. Her mother reports that Maria has been performing poorly in school and has withdrawn from her family. This began after her transition to secondary school. Her performance further deteriorated when she began second year. • 21. Theme Of Psychoanism In Wuthering Heights Wuthering Heights, published by Emily BrontГ« in 1847, tells a story of the history of Wuthering Heights and the tragic love story that precedes it. The two central settings of the work, Thrushcross Grange, and Wuthering Heights represent Freud s structural model of the human psyche: the id and the superego. Because Freud s structural model presents the notion that internal conflict is inevitable, the two settings illustrate the complexities of the human subconscious and the characters difficulty in navigating them. In BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights, the namesake setting of the book represents the Freudian id, by reason of its primitive aspect in the work. In psychoanalytic theory, the id is responsible for the primal instincts in humans, and almost always seeks immediate fulfillment. Early on in the novel, the primal nature of Wuthering Heights exposes itself: the Gothic architecture of the house gives off a sense of foreboding, the inside of the home lacks conventional furnishings, meat hangs from the kitchen ceiling, and Lockwood, the narrator, notices a pile of dead rabbits in the living room. Lockwood calls the atmosphere surrounding the house a tumult to which its station is exposed in stormy weather (5). The description of the home reveals an underlying barbarity to it, similar to the id. The darkness in the Heights mirrors location of the id in the human subconscious; the id is located deep in the recesses of the human mind, so many humans who engage the id have no way to resist it. The tone of the work shrouds the Heights in an antagonistic darkness, and the lack of conventionality coupled with the turbulent weather serves as a physical manifestation of the id. In contrast, Thrushcross Grange represents the superego due to the air of controlled refinement surrounding the home. Freud s model defines the superego as the part of the mind that acts as a critical self conscious, reflecting social standards learned through parents and teachers. The refined nature of the house and its adherence to societal standards shows in its physical appearance. As he described the appearance of Thrushcross Grange in the novel Heathcliff should have thought [himself] in heaven , (48). Unlike the Heights, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Marxist Labor Theory Of Value As with past articles in this series, this should not be taken as a refutation of each argument rather it should be read as my comments on each but in this case my thoughts are why they are wrong. Unlike with Anarcho Capitalists and Black Livers Matters I do not think communists and socialists (for the purpose of this article I will just use communismas a encompassing umbrella term) offer any positive to society and because of that should be actively refuted. 1. We need communism because without it workers will be exploited I consider the basis of this claim, the Marxist Labor Theory of Value, to be the economic equivalent to the flat earth theory. In essence this claim asserts that because value is objective and the worker creates X amount of value, say a five dollar widget, that because they were only paid four dollars the capitalist exploited a dollar of surplus value from them (this surplus value is the source of profit). This account fails because it is premised on a lie, that value is objective. In reality value is subjective and because of this reality surplus value is not possible. Profit does not come from extracting surplus value but rather it comes from delaying consumption, organizing production and taking risks. Lastly, as in any voluntary exchange, this is not a win lose exchange but rather it is a win win exchange. Both parties value what they give over what they get. In truth, there is exploitation but this exploitation goes both ways. 2. Super computers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes, that time of misfortune can derive from family troubles in its own. Though not always, the people closest to a person easily have the ability to influence his or her s feeling or mood, therefore it is clear that one s family has a great affect on a person s happiness. This informative piece s purpose is to show how police officers continue to use excessive force without consequences. With the recent number of police shootings involving black Americans, Scott sees police as bullies that do whatever necessary to get their way, so he uses the text to show them in that light. The few statistics that Scott uses are from credible sources, but the rest of the writing is purely anecdotal. He relies almost entirely on emotional appeals. In many of the above cases, such as the Chamberlain case, police were cleared of any wrongdoing or faced relatively light or unspecified punishments, a situation that I imagine leaves police feeling comfortable in deploying any act of violence in their toolbox, no matter how reckless, if it leaves them standing when all the smoke from the gunfire has cleared. However, for much of the populace, that knot in their chests when a squad car sidles up next to them in traffic is the twinge of sheer terror. Scott does not do much to set up how credible he is in the text. Without using facts and evidence or speaking from personal experience, Scott s writing lacks ethos. After practicing with the filming and editing using cameras and Adobe Premier in an induction , I still didn t feel very confident. This is where I got the idea for stop motion from. The Impact Of Iso 14001 On Asian Firms THE IMPACT OF ISO 14001 ON ASIAN FIRMS 1, Challenging World of Business in Asia Firms in developed countries have been faced with increasing amounts of pressure to manage and evaluate the impact of their activities on environment as the impacts went well beyond local and regional levels since around the 1970s. Following the developed countries, the same concern has become increasingly obvious in Asia as most of Asian industries have been developed through the export driven style economy and this has made them to do their economic activities in conformity with international standards. In order to reach better profitability and international competitiveness, firms in Asia have been facing the challenges of operating their business without damaging the environment and their corporate finances. The Asian continent enjoys a very rich mixture of complex cultures and this complexity is reflected in their economic, political, legal and business systems. Most Southeast Asian countries developed through primarily agricultural economies where industrial production has a limited influence until about 30 years ago (Oosterveer, Kamolsiripichaiporn and Rasiah 2006, p. 217). • 41. Examples Of Anti-Transcendentalism In Moby Dick Introduction The Anti Transcendentalism movement was a movement against all conventional beliefs. A participant in this movement was Herman Melville, most famous for his novel Moby Dick. Moby Dick highlights the journey of an obsessive quest to find a whale. The obsessive quest leads Ishmael, the main character, to his death because he tries to work against the forces of nature, which expresses some of Melville s Anti Transcendentalist beliefs through this particular novel. The Anti Transcendentalists or the American Gothic writers emphasized two major themes: the destructive power of nature and the dark side of the human mind, and paved the way for modern horror stories. The Power of Nature Once a person becomes attached or obsessed to a specific person, place, or even an idea, it is extremely difficult to expel this obsession. Ishmael becomes attached to Moby Dick. He does not execute a single action or take a simple breathe without thinking of this whale. Ishmael s obsession with this whale is to taken to such an extent that he is willing to venture through extreme obstacles out on the sea just to murder the whale that is responsible for his missing leg. As always, the power of nature overcomes the ignorance of man. Nature does what nature wants. Importance Of 21st Century Teaching And Learning 21st Century teaching and learning is about transforming educational practices to equip students with the skills and know how they will need to navigate life in the 21st century. Bolstad, Gilbert, McDowell, Bull, Boyd and Hopkins argue that 21st century learning and teaching can be considered as an emerging cluster of new ideas, beliefs, knowledge, theories and practices (Bolstad et. al., 2012, p. 1). In the Industrial age of thinking the educationsystem was modelled on a factory assembly line and the role of the educator was to prepare students for the industrial workforce. However, we are now living in the age coined the Knowledge era, where new information is rapidly being created every day and job markets are shifting and expanding; the top jobs in 2012, didn t exist in 2002 (EF Explore America, 2012). Because society is undergoing change at an alarming rate creating new ideas, beliefs, knowledge, theories and practices, the role of education is becoming unclear. Leaders across the globe are calling for students to have more sophisticated skills such as evaluating and analysing information and thinking critically and creatively to solve real world problems (Silva, 2008). By the time Gauss turned three, he had already taught himself to read and write. Additionally, Gauss often told acquaintances and friends that before he learned to speak, he learned to make mental calculations. Throughout his lifetime, Gauss made discoveries which would benefit many fields within mathematics. Gauss contributed greatly to the fields of arithmetic, statistics, geometry, algebra, and astronomy. The origin of this famed mathematician began in Brunswick, Germanyon April 30th in the year of 1777. Gauss had humble beginnings, and lived in a small house with his parents. Gauss s parents were both peasant laborers, which was expressed by the local dialect they spoke (West 15 16). Gauss s father, Gebhard Dietrich Gauss, worked in various areas; he worked as a brick layer, gardener, canal tender, street butcher, and accountant for funeral society (West 16). Gauss s mother, when she was Dorothea Benze, worked for seven years as a maid before she married Gebhard. In one report, the world s dirty little monetary secret had been exposed; faith in the US dollar was faltering. Since then, international attitudes toward the US dollar have only gotten worse. With 2013 debt at approximately 105 percent of gross domestic product and a negative outlook rating from Standard s and Poor, the United States is looking like an insolvent bank no one wants to keep their money in. While it is said the dollar is now back by the full faith and credit of the United States, this faith and credit is largely treasury bonds, or debt, much of which are held overseas by foreign governments. Ever since the US dollar went off the gold standard in 1971, other countries have had doubts about keeping the dollar as the world s reserve currency. The first concern was that no fiat currency has succeeded long term. In a study of 775 fiat currencies (Mack, 2011), there was no historical precedence for a fiat currency that has succeeded in holding its value. 20 percent failed through hyperinflation, 21 percent were destroyed by war, 12 percent destroyed by independence, 24 percent were monetarily reformed, and 23 percent are still in circulation approaching one of the other outcomes (Mack, 2011). The average life expectancy for a fiat currency is 27 years, with the shortest life span being one month (Mack, 2011). It is one thing if an individual country s fiat currency collapses, but if a world reserve currency collapses, such as the US dollar, the world s economy will collapse with it. Another issue is the dramatic drop in the value in the dollar. As stated earlier, the US dollar has lost 97 percent of its value since being taken off the gold standard in 1971 (Mack, 2011). Not only does a weaker dollar translate into a cut in the real spending power of American consumers, it makes the dollar a very poor investment for investors and central banks around the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A family dysfunction can be any condition that impedes its proper rhythm. Most families have some periods of time when functioning is impaired by stressful circumstances, for instance: death, illness, unemployment, finances, stress, work, school, etc. Moreover, healthy families tend to return to normal functioning after the crisis passes. In dysfunctional families, however, problems tend to be chronic. A healthy family is not perfect; there may be misunderstandings, tensions, conflicts, yelling, hurt and anger, but not always. Emotional expression is allowed; and it s acceptable to get mad sometimes, as long as it s not all the time. The Holy Bible teaches on Ephesians 4 23 Be ye angry and sin not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath . Also, in a healthy family, rules tend to be explicit and are consistent, but with some flexibility to adapt to individual needs and particular situations. Ephesians 6 4 exemplifies this idea with the following verse: And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath . Children are treated with respect, and do not fear emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse. However, the rise of such groups as the Black Panther Partywas the direct result of the perceived, and realistic failure of nonviolent groups, which Hoover was responsible for creating. The FBI fed internal tensions and rivalries which made it harder for the movement to create a united front, leaked derogatory information on activists to the media which dissuaded others from joining, and disseminated derogatory information to federal officials which led to a lessened commitment to protect civil rights workers (358) This obviously created many problems for the civil rights struggle. The spark of love can be compared to that of an actual fire, one constructed slowly with proper materials will have a long lasting flame; one built with improper materials will burn with blitz, or not at all. The consequences of loveare always overlooked, as the flame it creates is blinding. Love is the Achilles heel of a character s honour. It s force allows impossible, or forbidden relationships between relatives, opposing personalities or opposing sides. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet could have never lead a platonic relationship, raised on opposing sides to hate each other; it is the power of love that allowed such a relationship to form. The same goes for characters in Wuthering Heightsand A Storm of Swords. It blinds to the consequences of breaking vows and rules, and forsaking honour. In George R.R. • 52. Manfred, Self-Obortion In The Chamois Hunter Manfred s autonomy develops through two phases in the poem, moving from somewhat dependent to completely independent after Astarte refuses to show him forgiveness. Phase one of Manfred s is best described by his search for an outside relief from the guilt he bares because of Astarte. He begins by summoning the seven spirits in the hopes that they will have some reprieve from his suffering by a way other than death, which he describes as, oblivion, self oblivion (Act 1, 144 146). The spirits cannot insure this to Manfred for it is a concept they themselves cannot fully comprehend: We are immortal and do not forget (Act 1, 149). Unsatisfied with this answer Manfred tries to impart his own relief by committing suicide (Act 1, 109). However, during this act he still seeks an escape dictated by an outside power, such as the eagle he sees: Well thou swoop so near me I should be thy prey and gorge thine eaglets (Act 1, 32 33). The Chamois Hunter interrupts this attempt forcing Manfred to continue on his journey of seeking a remedy. Manfred grows stronger in his confidence of independent autonomy after this incident. When he summons the Witch and she presents him with the possibility of relieving his suffering if he will swear obedience to [her] will and do [her] bidding she will provide him an escape (Act 2, 155 157). The Role Of Sex Work And Sex Trafficking Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons, is a crime where people profit from the exploitation of others through some form of labor (Polaris, 2015). Taking a domestic approach to study gender and sex trafficking, or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how people do gender while being a part of this industry. Examining the structure of gender in society with regard to sex work and sex trafficking sheds light on how the system works and how it is perpetuated. To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber, 1994; Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are commonly trafficked for domestic service and sex industries.
