The concept that the development of a nation
is the increase in its material wealth and
facilities.
The achievements of a nation in areas like
health and education could be considered as
the basic indicators of development.

6. DEVELOPMENT
 Development is the progress in the standard of living of
the people in a country.
 There are so many human development factors which
influence the development of a nation.

9. Literacy
Literacy is the ability to read and write at least a short
passage in mother tongue.
Life expectancy
Life expectancy is the average expected life of an infant.
Birth rate
Birth rate is the number of live births per thousand
people in a year.

10. Death rate
Death rate is the number of deaths taking place per
thousand people in a year.
Infant mortality rate
It is the number of deaths of infants before the completion
of one year after birth per1000 live births.
Percapita income
It is the average annual income of an individual. It is
obtained by dividing national income by total population.

11. CONCLUSION
The progress in factors such as literacy rate,
birth rate, death rate, infant mortality rate,
life expectancy and percapita income is
termed as human development factors.
