2. BIG, 430 attendees, 150 speakers
Industry meets academia
High quality, both on content and package
3. Day 1
Facilitating dialogue in situations of conflict
Don't spend too much time thinking up a
strategy, there isn't a best one.
Much easier to get constructive when faced with
something tangible you're invited to modify.
Be open about your value model, make it easy
for people to either buy-in or propose
improvements in the same open way.
9. Day 1
ScrumMaster group therapy
2 trainers, 3 scrum masters.
Good sharing session on what it really
means to be a ScrumMaster.
ScrumMastering vs Coaching
Coaching up vs coaching down, etc
10. Day 1
GROWing effective coaching questions
Very actionable tips on how to phrase a series of
questions taking you from a tough problem to a
roadmap towards the ideal solution.

14. Day 2
Collaboration track
Trust is the key
Hard to earn, extremely easy to lose.
Distance makes building trust much harder.
Communication is key, right down to the seemingly
obvious concepts.
"You are going to pay the cost of that face-to-face meeting,
whether you have it or not"

18. Purpose
“When employees come to work in the morning,
it makes a lot of difference if they really know
why.”
This leads to much better decisions across
the entire company.
19. Passion
Can't have passion if you have no purpose.
It's what leads you to caring deeply about
your craft.
Passion, and nothing else, is what will drive
continuous improvement.
20. Professionalism
Software is not what customers want, they want
something else.
Go find out what they really want, it's not what
you think they want, and it's usually not what
they say they want.
Build the right thing!
“There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that
which should not be done at all.”
21. Professionalism
Build the thing right.
As simple as possible but no simpler.
Sustainable:
avoid waste / unevenness / overburden
23. Profit
You want to make enough to stay in
business.
Usually if you've got the other Ps, you're
making a lot more than that.
24. Day 2
Lean & Kanban track
Some companies are turning to Kanban to take their
mature Scrum implementation to the next level.
For development, you need to excel at Scrum to really get
Kanban. To make it 100% clear, we're very far from ready.
For some other activities, like Operations, it's a more
natural fit.
"Done considered harmful" lighting talk was brilliant. The
"Definition of Done" is a band-aid...
25. Day 2
Testing automation track
Interesting tidbits on the scaling problems Google is facing.
Replaced 2000+ build servers with a cloud based solution.
Low on technical details, the real nuggets were on how the
project was handled.
Green light from the board, stealth mode start-up, approach
innovators to get their team on board, user driven by those
teams, allow them to market to early adopters.
Full company roll-out during one "fix-it" day.
26. Day 3
The morning after the night before...
Lean & limited WIP keynote
Personal development track
Learning & improvement track
"My agile suitcase"
Pecha kucha presentations on what seasoned
