The Global ManuChem Strategies 2014 conference offered a platform where 26 leading
companies gave insights and examples on maturing prices, over-capacity plants, increasing
environmental pressure and plant asset management. All based on renewed interest in
improving and sustaining the performance of existing, large scale assets.
Over 80 attendees have used the conference actively and discussed contemporary challenges,

Thomas Andrae presented in his Case Study the
topic “Dow in Central Germany – Building on the
Strength of the Past to be able to successfully
manage the Challenges of the Future”. Themes
such as the European business environment,
shifting towards new energies and ‘the currently
biggest challenge that society has to face’ were
discussed.

Frank Rösiger spoke to the audience about
production planning and productivity –
implementing a successful production planning
system & integrating a local supply chain
management system to reduce time to market and
to reach shop floor excellence, and gave insights
on the integration of supply and demand planning,
forecasts and performance management.

Dr. Johannes Eickmans presented his Case Study
“Implementation of a Global System for Production Loss
Accounting”. With the focus on: Setting up a globally
harmonized production loss code structure, defining and

management and Data consistency from shop floor to top
floor – Integration into SAP warehouse.

Dr. Dieter Regnat analyzed the topic ‘The next step of
excellence in production – integrated optimization of yield,
energy and environment’ and gave insights on a holistic
approach for optimizing main drivers of variable production
costs, an interdisciplinary process analysis for reaching the
overall economical optimum, yield improvements through
lean sigma approach and opportunities for process
improvements through new analytical methods.

Heiko Mennerich delivered the Case Study
“Sometimes! – The Improvement Process of our
Production Units has to be simplified”, whereby he
looked into the operating behaviors of companies
