    from one ancestral species arriving from the mainland to populate
    and diversify across the islands (adaptive radiation).

•   But environmental conditions change:
      What was advantageous yesterday may be a disadvantage today.

•   And evolution also occurs by:
    • genetic drift
    • sexual selection
    • artifical selection (selective breeding)
