1. HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA
REPRESENT PARTICULAR
SOCIAL GROUPS?
Evaluation question 2
2.
3. Kerrang! Have a photograph of a member of
Greenday on their front cover holding a guitar.
Their person is looking away from the camera
with their hair all messed up and heavy eye
makeup on. This is to attract different
stereotypes of people to the picture that is
similar on my double page spread as this is for
more rock-orientated rather then
dance/clubbing.
The person on this also looks as though they
don’t really have a care in playing as they aren’t
holding the guitar properly.
The angle of this picture is looking up at them
aswell giving a sense that they are higher up
then the reader rather then on the same level.
The way the lighting and picture has been taken
in this magazine is stereotypical for this sort of
magazine rather then how mine has been set
up and staged.
4. Whereas my picture on my double page
spread, although both are holding a guitar and
looking away, looks more sophisticated as it is
for a different stereotype of people as mine is
more clean cut as mine is more dance/clubbing
orientated.
The person on mine is also focused on playing
the guitar rather then looking away into the
distance like the Greenday member on
Kerrang!
The picture on my double page spread is taken
at eye level so it seems as though your on the
same level at the person rather then looking up
at them like the Kerrang! Magazine.
I have constructed my image in a more
stereotypically fun and simpler way in which the
Kerrang! Picture is taken as I thought the way I
took mine fits in with my genre and type of
magazine.
