2. This is an analysis of my target audience
research, it represents the hard copies of the
questionnaire and doesn’t incorporate the online
survey that was broadcasted amongst social
media networks such as Facebook, BlackBerry
Messenger and MSN Messenger.
The reason for the online survey being omitted is
that a number of participants failed to fill it out
truthfully and rather immaturely.
The hard copies were distributed and filled out
in my presence and any that may have been
immature or inaccurate have been omitted.
3. How old are you?
From this graph I can see
that of the people I
questioned, most were within
the range of 15 to 21. This
will need to be heavily
considered when writing the
script and story as they will
need to relate well.
4. Are you male or female?
I will need to orient my
movie from a males view,
but keeping it relatable
for the female gender.
This is because a large
majority, over double, are
male.
5. What is your favourite movie?
From the favourite movies of
the people questioned, I can
tell that their favourite
movies aren’t in the Social
Realism genre, with the
exception of one.
6. What is your favourite genre?
From the results, I
have been informed
that Social Realism is
15% of my candidates
favourite genres.
Although a small
percentage, it doesn’t
mean that the others
do not enjoy it.
7. How do you watch movies?
This question relates to
distribution of my movie. From the
graph, I can see that nearly half
of the viewers use DVDs as a main
source of movie and then roughly
one quarter at cinemas and nearly
a third using both forms of the
internet. From this I can see that
first publishing a movie onto DVD
would be a wise move and tackling
the other forms later on.

8. What is your current education and employment
status?
These two graphs tell
me that the majority
of those questioned
are in further
education and have
part time, or no jobs.
This will need to be, in
some way reflected in
my product.
9. What is your country of residence?
These charts show where my
participants live. As you can see
100% live in the UK and at least
38% in England. This was included
as some may live in the UK and not
England and didn’t specify due to
my error in not explaining the
question.
The second question was still
successful but was erroneous in
the same way as the above. For
the people that answered South
East, they could have meant South
East of England, Wales, N. Ireland
or Scotland.
10. Do you understand the term ‘Social Realism’?
This question shows that
if I made a Social Realism
movie, a large majority
would understand the
genre and not be confused
by that from the
complete beginning.
11. Do you feel like you can relate to Social Realism
movie?
The results from this
question tell me that I will
need to look into some
popular Social Realism movies
and their themes that make
them relatable to the
viewers.
12. Do you enjoy Social Realism?
This last question is
concerning as maybe I would
need to reconsider my
audience, although it is only
slightly over half. I need to
consider that Social Realism
applies to a niche audience
and that it should be
expected that a majority
aren’t interested in it.
