3. CROPPING THE WHAT THE IMAGE LOOKED LIKE
IMAGE WHEN WE ADJUSTED THE
BRIGHTNESS
The first thing to do was to select the image
we wished to use. Having done this we
cropped the image in order to cause it to
became square as digipak covers are THE DARK STROKE EFFECT WHICH WE
square. Then we adjusted the brightness by EVENTUALLY SETTLED FOR...
using the brightness/contrast tool however
when doing this we felt the image lost to
much colour so we therefore decided not to
use this effect. Instead we started to test
and try different types of effects in order to
see which one would portray best the
ambience and atmosphere we wanted to
create. Once we had tested and tried a
number of effects we eventually settled for
the “Dark strokes effect”, not only because it
portrayed the atmosphere we wanted to
create but also because it allowed us to
keep a constant continuity as we used this
effect on the inside cover.

When looking at other CD covers we found
that the US price was listed as well as the UK
price, we therefore decided to do this on our
cover to again improve the professionalism of
the cover. In order to get the correct price US
and UK price we went on to the US and UK
version of the iTunes website, on these
websites we also found the names of the
songs within the album which enabled us to
check if we had correctly spell the words.
