The document discusses the technologies used to construct a media product. A Nikon D5100 camera was used to take photos for a magazine, allowing adjustment of focus and aperture during shooting. An HTC Desire S mobile phone also took photos at a concert, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and CS5 were used to edit photos and make the cover. Various Photoshop tools like Quick Selection and Refine Edge helped adjust people in photos. All work was recorded on Blogger for organization and safekeeping. SlideShare was additionally used to upload PowerPoint slides to the blog.
1. Question 6 – What have about learned about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
During the construction of my media product I used various
technologies to help me. To take photos of the band for my
magazine, I used a Nikon D5100. This was a good camera to
use as it lets you adjust the focus and aperture whilst you are
taking the photos. I used my mobile phone, a HTC Desire S, to
take the photos at the All Time Low gig. The camera on this
phone is very good and easy to use as it is a handheld device. I
edited my photos in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to make
them clearer and I made my front cover in Photoshop CS5. I
used different tools in Photoshop such as the Quick Selection
tool and Refine Edge to individually move and adjust each
person in my photos and make the edges smooth when I cut
them out. I also used the Magic Wand tool to remove the
background of my images in one click. I have used this
software before in the past and I found it very easy to use. I
recorded all of my work on Blogger which allowed me to keep
everything together and have a risk of losing it. I find that
Blogger is very easy to use as I am used to blogging sites like
Tumblr. I used a site called SlideShare to upload my
PowerPoint slides onto my blog. Again, this is a very simple
site to use and because I have experience with HTML codes, I
found it easy to attach my PowerPoint onto my blog.
