Paramount, along with our vendor partners,
developed the concept of a Builder Forum where
ideas could be exchanged, problems could be
solved, business strategies discussed, etc.
10. History of P.A.C.E.
This led to the initial Paramount Advisory Committee
Enterprise (P.A.C.E.) meeting in July of 1999 with 21
companies.
Out of these meetings, work began on the
development of tools and resources to help pool
builders improve and grow their businesses. These
tools are now known as the Paramount Partner
Business Solutions.

HISTORY OF PACE Customers were requesting information on how Paddock “runs” its business. Paramount, along with our vendor partners, developed the idea of a Builder Forum where ideas could be exchanged, problems could be solved, business strategies discussed, etc.
This lead to the initial Paramount Advisory Committee Enterprise (PACE) meeting in July of 1999 with 21 member companies. Out of these meetings work began on the development of tools and resources to help pool builders improve and grow their businesses. Okay – on with the introductions. So that everybody has a chance to put a face with a name we are going to introduce everyone in attendance. We have a dozen companies attending for the first time - our biggest group of new builders ever! As is our tradition – We have asked each of them to tell us a little bit about their businesses. The format for PACE really took shape over the course of the first 3 years – 1999, 2000 and 2001. It began with a smaller group of companies and vendor partners who we refer to as our FOUNDING members. I would to start by introducing our Founding Members. They really had a significant impact on making PACE what it is today. Would you please stand up when we get to you.
Now about a big round of applause for all of our Founding members… Let’s move on to our returning members. Many of these people have attended for several years and we welcome them back…
This brings us to our new members from the United States. Bill will be introducing our International Guests right after. It has become a tradition at PACE – sort of rite of passage – for our first time participants to give us a brief overview about their businesses. It gives us a chance to get to know them a little better and we get to see how they handle public speaking.
Thank you for your presentations. Let’s give all of our New Members a nice round of applause. At this point I will turn this over to Bill who heads up our International Business.
Thanks Buzz. Paramount has been very fortunate to have aligned ourselves with 2 fantastic partners in Australia. These are relationships that are approaching 20 years. I’ve had the opportunity to make a few trips to the Land Down Under and let me tell you they are passionate about what they do and they are passionate about in-floor systems. I’ve visited builders in Melbourne (Victoria), Sydney (New South Wales), Brisbane and the Gold Coast (Queensland), and even in Perth in Western Australia and they are building some beautiful pools there.
We have a new company from Australia joining us this year. READ SLIDE. In July I had the opportunity to see their new office and warehouse. But I will let them tell you more about Falcon Pools.
We also have our first guests from Canada joining us. Introduce Alan Wason, who distributes our product there.

I would also like to Welcome Mark Wideman and Marc Luff from Betz Pools to PACE. This is their first time to PACE so we have also asked them to say a little bit about Betz Pools…
Now it is on to our Vendor Partners. The support of these Vendors is vital to the success of PACE. Just as we had Charter members we have Charter Vendor Partners who had the foresight to get involved with PACE back in the formative years. Having great Partners allowed us to expand and shape the meeting into into it’s current format. As always I ask you to support our vendor partners or at least give them serious consideration. Let’s first meet the Charter Vendors…
From Pentair: - Paul Walter - Mike Jordan Paul Walter will speak for Pentair.
Next up is Pebble Tec - Bob Haning - Carla Bauer Bob will speak for Pebble Tec
And now our returning vendor partners….
From Bullfrog Spas – the creator of our Jet Pak technology… Marv Howell
From Pool Cover Specialists… Bruce Grogg
From Structure Studios – creator of Pool Studio… NOAH NEHLICH J.R. RAPP
From Wet Edge Technologies… LOREN GRANSTROM SCOTT MACDONALD
We are very excited to have Grand Effects join us this year. They make some really high quality fire and water features and we welcome Kevin to PACE… KEVIN DOUD
I am very excited that we have two new vendor partners this year…

A big round of applause for all of our Vendor Partners. They are participating in our CONNECTION SESSIONS this afternoon so you will have a chance to learn a little more about each company.

Bill to explain format: Look at the directory. You will see a number next to your name. If you look at the roundtable list at the end you will also see a number. The number next to your name is your starting table. We will be at each table for about 12 minutes and then you will move to the next number. (15 goes to 1)… When you hear the signal – that is your prompt to quickly move to your next table. When you finish you can come back here and sit for just a quick end of the day announcement.
