The learner recognize Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies and Skills (PeCS) needed in Technical Drafting.
Performance Standard
The learner identifies and assess a practitioner’s PeCS: Characteristics, Attributes, Lifestyles, Skills, Traits. And align one’s PECSwith those of a
practitioner/Entrepreneur. (TLE_PECS7/8-00-1).
Background Information for Learners
As a future businessman/businesswoman someday, we need to lookclosely and examine our personalcharacteristicsand competencies to become
successful entrepreneurs.
TERMS DEFINITIONS
Entrepreneur (Person) - a person who organizes, develops, operates, and engages in his/her own business.
Entrepreneurship (Action) - organizing, developing, operating and engaging in one's own business. Basically, entrepreneurship is both an art and
science of converting business ideas into marketable products or services to improve the quality of living.
Personal Entrepreneurial
Competencies (PECs)
- qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, knowledge, and behavior that a person must possess to become a successful
entrepreneur.
Have you ever thought running your own business in the future? Do you think you can handle the stress and hard work that will go along with it?
The answer to that question lies on your qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, knowledge, and traits to become successful in your business venture.

Entrepreneurial competencies refer to the important characteristics that should be possessed by an individualin order to performentrepreneurial
functions effectively. In this section, we will walk through in reflecting and assessing your PECs. To firm up what you have learned and have a better
appreciation of the different entrepreneurial competencies. Always remember that successful entrepreneurs continuously develop and improve their PECs

TERMS DEFINITIONS Entrepreneur (Person) - a person who organizes, develops, operates, and engages in his/her own business. Entrepreneurship (Action) - organizing, developing, operating and engaging in one's own business. Basically, entrepreneurship is both an art and science of converting business ideas into marketable products or services to improve the quality of living. Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs) - qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, knowledge, and behavior that a person must possess to become a successful entrepreneur. Have you ever thought running your own business in the future? Do you think you can handle the stress and hard work that will go along with it? The answer to that question lies on your qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, knowledge, and traits to become successful in your business venture. CHARACTERISTICS/ATTITUDES/TRAITS Hardworking: This means that a good entrepreneur keeps improving their performance to produce good products and services Discipline Always sticks to the plan and fights the temptation to do what is unimportant. Profit-Oriented Knows to generate profit or income Committed Which give full commitment and solid dedication to make the business successful. People Skills An effective and efficient communication to build good relationship with people around you. Decision Maker A successful entrepreneurs have the ability to make wise decisions based on given facts and information Confident The one who believes in ability to achieve because he knows well what he is doing Risks Taker A successful entrepreneur should be aware that risks and challenges are part of any endeavor and considerthemas stepping stone to success. Creative In order to stay in the business and to have an edge over the other competitors, an entrepreneur Excellent Planner Involves strategies thinking and goal setting to achieve objectives by carefully maximizing all the available resources. Planning is effective when combined with action Entrepreneurial competencies refer to the important characteristics that should be possessed by an individualin order to performentrepreneurial functions effectively. In this section, we will walk through in reflecting and assessing your PECs. To firm up what you have learned and have a better appreciation of the different entrepreneurial competencies.
