In what ways does your media product use conventions
What have i learned from my audience feedback digipack
1. What have I learned from my
Audience Feedback?
Advert
2. How was Audience Feedback Collected
• My first batch of audience feedback was collected by
showing my advert to five people and asking them to say
something they like and something they did not like. Using
this I made edits to the advert to try and make it more
suitable to them and to try and make it meet the
audience's needs better. I then asked them to vote for
which version they liked best, the original or the new
version and that version became the final advert.
3. What changes were made as a result
•
of made wasfeedback?selective colour. This was
The first change that was
this putting the eyes into
to match the new version of the Digipack made (as conventional adverts use the
album cover as the main photo).
• I don’t think this was an effective change. It made the advert appear, odd, weird
and abstract and didn't allow it to link in with the video (as there was no selective
colour in the video). It also clearly wasn't appropriate for the audience as they
chose to use the original digipack as the final version which didn't have this on it,
therefore they didn't really like it either.
4. What other Changes were Made?
• The placement and colour of the words ‘Out Now’ was changed.
• The moving of ‘Out Now’ to the bottom was an effective change I feel. I think this
because it made the layout appear more mature, professional and neater.
However changing the colour to red was a bad decision. It created too much
contrast, was harsh too look at and became difficult to read.
• It also clearly wasn't appropriate for the audience as they chose to use the original
digipack as the final version which didn't have this on it, therefore they didn't
really like it either.
5. Continuous Audience Feedback
• For this task I was able to receive continuous
audience feedback because I constantly asked my
friends around me what they thought of what I
was producing whilst I was producing it. This
allowed me to meet expectations because it
allowed me to obtain audience feedback whilst
making it, and make minor changes meaning that
when having to collect real audience feedback
later on, not much was needed to be changed or
edited because I had already edited with this
audience feedback.
6. Improvements to Audience Feedback
• My audience feedback was not as in-depth as
my music video feedback was. This is because
I collected a third lot of feedback for my video.
I think I should have done that for this task
because it would have allowed me to collect
further feedback and add more to the original
advert and possibly made a better product
because of it. If I was to redo this project I
would definitely do this to make a better
looking advert.
