  every week.
• The company states ‘We connect people and
communities with compelling and quality content,
whenever, wherever and however they want.’
Here are some examples of the
          magazines they publish:

• They also expand into TV and Radio
• ‘Our business is built on millions of personal
  relationships with engaged audiences.’
• Bauer Media Group is a mainstream company
which is shown through their 80 different brands
that span over a wide variety of interests, from
  MATCH to Q etc.
• IPC Media has over 60 iconic media brands and
content for multiple platforms, across print, online,
mobile, tablets and events. With an audience of 26
million UK adults - almost two thirds of UK women
and over 40% of UK men. Websites audience is over
25 million global users every month.
• IPC Media (formally international publishing
corporation) is a wholly owned subsidiary Of Time
Inc. A consumer magazine and digital publisher
originating in the UK, with a portfolio selling over
  350 million copies a year
• In 1059 Cecil Harmsworth King brought a chain of
newspaper together, starting IPC media. with
almost one hundred consumer magazines, more
than two hundred trade and technical periodicals,
and various book publishing interests. Reaching
  audiences internationally.
• In 2009 IPC Media was acquired by Time Inc. and
  became a subsidiary.
• They classify their magazines into three main
  categories:
• Connect- Mass Market women
• South bank- upmarket women
• Inspire- men
Examples of the magazines they
                  publish:

• IPC Media is a mainstream company as it appeals to
the mass market whether it is male or female.
• EMAP stands for East Midland Allied Press
• EMAP owns industry-leading brands that sit at the heart of
business powerful B2B communities like Retail, Health,
  Construction, Architecture, and Fashion.
• ‘Our purpose is to connect professional communities and inspire
them to know, to grow, progress and win. Brands such as HSJ and
Retail Week create deep relationships and unparalleled reach, to
  increase value for our customers.’
• They deliver through networking events like awards, online data,
social media communities, conferences etc. They create
innovative solutions and better ways for advertisers and sponsors
to connect with their audience. providing highly valued
subscription services and are rewarded by a following.
• ‘For our customers, EMAP provides the best possible way to
connect with their world. We are their competitive advantage.’
• Richard Winfrey was a Liberal politician and
campaigner for agricultural rights and the papers
were used to promote his political views in the
  newspapers he purchased.
• His son took over and started expanding the
business, purchasing and selling newspapers and
magazines, including TV and radio. They completed
a sale with Bauer for$1.4 billion.
• Recently they announced that the name will change
to Top Right Group. That its magazines, events and
businesses will be separated into three standalone
companies. The EMAP will continue to be used for
  magazine operations.
Examples of their magazines

• The company aims at a niche market by aiming at
the business market, retails, health, construction
and architecture. Even though it has a large
audience it is still a niche market as it will not
  appeal to all.
• Future PLC is an international media group that are leading digital
publisher. Creating market-leading content in Technology, Film &
Video Games, Sport & much more!
• Future PLC creates high-quality multi-media products which reach
audiences online, mobile and in print. It attracts more than 45
million visitors a month online and is one of the world’s leading
publishers (Including 6th largest company in the UK) on tablets like
  the Apple products.
• Future PLC delivers compelling content across five core sectors:
Technology, Entertainment & Video Games, Sport & Auto, Music
and Creative. It is most famous for combining an award-winning
editorial with outstanding design, for video content and our digital
  know-how.
• Currently it publishes more than 150 magazines. International
audiences in UK, USA and Australia and creating over 200
specialist apps, websites, publications and events!
• Found in 1985 by Chris Anderson with only one
magazine call ‘Amstrad Action’. An early innovation
was the inclusion of free software on magazine
covers, the first company to do so. Anderson sold
Future to Pearson PLC for £52.7m in 1994, but
bought it back in 1998, with Future chief executive
Greg Ingham. In 2001 Anderson left Future.
• In November 2009, Future reported a fall in profits
from £9.5 million to £3.7 million (a loss of 61%).
Future PLC put this to problems with their US
market, hit by a fall in the general advertising
market. Currently publishing over 150 magazines,
Future PLC reaches international audiences in the
  UK, USA and Australia.
Examples of the magazines they
                produce:

• The company has many brands which total into a
very large number however the magazines they
produce aim for niche markets like ‘PlayStation’
aims at gamers or ‘Metal Hammer’ appeals to rock
  etc.
I think that either Bauer or Future PLC would own my
magazine, because even though it aim for mass
market in hopes that it will appeal to all audiences, it
may full under a niche market like students interested
in music etc.
I would hope the company to be a main player and be
successful as they would have the resources to
promote/advertise my magazine.
