Urban Partnerships for Poverty Reduction Project is the largest poverty reduction programmed of UNDP
and partnerships with LGED, UNDP, and UKAID & UN-HABITATS. UPPR is the largest poverty reduction
initiative in Bangladesh and one of the largest in the world ($120 million budget). The progamme aims
to improve the livelihood and living condition of three millions urban poor and extreme poor specially
women and girl in 30 cities and towns by 2015.

sanitation, education support, skill development, Entrepreneurship development for urban poor &

area. The project had 3 major component like flood protect && environmental sanitation, poverty

Carried out a rapid assessment of the HYSAWA Project executed earlier through funding from Danish
International Development Agency (DANIDA) by the NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation
(DWSS). The assessment programme included carrying out a field evaluation and monitoring of all
intervention areas in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) funded by DANIDA viz. Khagrachari, Bandar ban and
Rangamati districts.
 The evaluation mechanism involved carrying out field inspection of the infrastructure interventions,
 Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with various stakeholders including ethnic minorities, tribal lords,
nomadic groups etc.
 The final outcome was submitted to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the STREAMS of
Knowledge (SoK).
 The findings from the study is to be compiled and published in a booklet form which is to be circulated
to the stakeholders, donors, Government of Bangladesh (GoB), Partner NGOs (PNGO) local government
institutions (LGI) etc.

The project had 3 major component like flood protect && environmental sanitation, poverty reduction and urban governance. Individual Consultant ( February 01, 2006 - March 30, 2008) NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation Company Location: ADB,Block-E, 4/6Lalmatia, Dhaka-1207 Department: HYSAWA Project Duties/Responsibilities: Carried out a rapid assessment of the HYSAWA Project executed earlier through funding from Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) by the NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (DWSS). The assessment programme included carrying out a field evaluation and monitoring of all intervention areas in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) funded by DANIDA viz. Khagrachari, Bandar ban and Rangamati districts.  The evaluation mechanism involved carrying out field inspection of the infrastructure interventions,  Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with various stakeholders including ethnic minorities, tribal lords, nomadic groups etc.  The final outcome was submitted to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the STREAMS of Knowledge (SoK).  The findings from the study is to be compiled and published in a booklet form which is to be circulated to the stakeholders, donors, Government of Bangladesh (GoB), Partner NGOs (PNGO) local government institutions (LGI) etc.
