1. REFLECTION ON THE FIELD STUDY AREA OBSERVED
The central focus of the first field study is all about the learners and the environment where they are
perfectly developed and nurture into a desired individual. Lessons and discussions under this subject is a
great opportunity to know who the learners are and what are their present stand and point in the whole
education process. The best way to understand the learners in a general sense is by weighing the depth
thinking and analysis of the current trend and shift of education which ha a direct impact and effects to
the learners. The change of the perspective goes hand in hand with potential change in how we view
these individuals. It has been emphasizing so many times that teacher is the center of the process and
learners are just passive and waiting to be filled up with wisdom.
Through Field Study, I was able to have my first off campus field observation and opportunity to take a
look on the environment where the learners will be developed wherein several topics were being
anchored on describing what essential and conducive learning environment that is for the learners.
After having the opportunity to observe in Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School Stand Alone Senior
High School that has an engaging environment, comfortable and free from any disruptions that may lead
to poor learning. A place that is fun and worth spending for, it is Inevitable that we should have learned
something about the experience we have gain, especially about what it takes to be a good teacher, no
matter what kind of students or situation I am in we have to deal with it with patience. We have
experienced everything that a professional teacher has experienced during our time in DPLMHS-STAND
ALONE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL such us preparing lesson plans, reviewing all lessons and dealing with
students with diverse personalities and abilities.
For my Resource teacher who is knowledgeable enough about the topic at hand. I realize that teaching
students are entirely different matter especially teaching a diverse personality. This experience made
me realize that being a teacher is not a joke, we have to take this profession seriously. My critique, Mrs.
Hansen who always tried her best to point out and make her students understand their mistakes in a
tactful and in positive manner, which I eventually adapted into dealing with my students during my
assistantship. She always told me that mistakes are0 always a part of this experience and that I could
learn from mistakes in the future by not trying to repeat them. Another thing I’ve learn from her is that
in order to encourage students to perform better in class, teacher should give them compliments in
every effort they convey. This experience leaves me to this quotation that “Teaching is noble profession”
Because teacher must include exclude favorable qualities0 and impart moral principles. We must
remember that teachers, more than anyone else, is judged by their character. So, teacher should be the
best that they can be. I am beyond amazed with how the teacher captured the student’s engagement
and managed her motivation strategy accordingly.
