3. Background
At the simplest level, the song is about the ebony (black
and ivory (white) keys on a piano, but also deals
with integration and racial harmony on a deeper level.
The title was inspired by McCartney hearing Spike
Milligan say "black notes, white notes, and you need to
play the two to make harmony, folks!
"The figure is much older. It was popularized by James
Aggrey in the 1920s, inspiring the title of the pan-African
journalThe Keys, but was in use from at least the 1840s.
Written by McCartney alone, the song was performed live
in the studio by both McCartney andWonder, though
due to conflicting work schedules, both recorded their p
the song's music video separately.

5. My understanding about this
lyrics
I think that Paul McCartney wrote this song
inspired in the concept of integration of the black
(ebony) and the white (ivory) races.
This song contains a message of racial harmony.
It is very simple and beautiful.
It tell us that all the world’s people are equal, are
the same; so we have to live in peace and give
everybody respect and consideration.

7. Why I have chosen this
artist
I have chosen this artist and this particular song
because it contains a deep message of unity
and brotherhood.
It calls to the harmony between the people of
the different races especially the black and
the white.
And the music, it is so melodious that invites to
sing it and even dance it.
