HOW POPULAR ARE SOCIAL NETWORKS? 
• According to the analysts at Hitwise, social networks in general are more popular 
than search engines in some parts of the world 
• Facebook’s overall web traffic pulled ahead of Google’s for the first time in the 
U.S. in March of this year. 
• Facebook dominates the current crop of social networks, accounting for the 
majority (55%) of all social site visits. When compared to the wider web, Google 
gets around 9.3% of all web traffic, while Facebook captures just over 7%

Xbox One vs. PS4
The PlayStation 4 (officially abbreviated 
as PS4) is a video game console from Sony 
Computer Entertainment. Announced as the 
successor to the PlayStation 3 during a press 
conference on 20 February 2013, it was 
launched on 15 November 2013, in North 
America, and 29 November 2013, in Europe 
and Australia. It competes with Nintendo's Wii 
U and Microsoft's Xbox One, as one of 
the eighth generation of video game consoles. 
Xbox One is a video game console developed 
and marketed by Microsoft. Announced on 
May 21, 2013, it is the successor to theXbox 
360 and is the third console in the Xbox family. 
New gaming functionality includes an 
expanded Xbox Live service, improved Kinect 
functionality, cloud computin, the ability to 
automatically record and share video highlights 
from gameplay, and support for live 
streaming gameplay online.
DESIGN AND BUILD 
Both Systems are blocky and boast sharp 
angles. 
Xbox One has the feel of an old VCR 
PS4 has a 2 parallelogram platforms separated 
by a glowing blue line
CONTROLLERS Xbox One controller is very similar to Xbox 
360 controller 
PS4 Controller has a new touch screen 
accessory 
PS4 controllers are now similar to the Xbox 
controllers with concave analogs 
R2 and L2 buttons are now hook-like to 
prevent slipping
SIMILARITIES 
Both Systems have an 8-core processors, 8 
gigabytes of RAM, and 500 gigabyte hard 
drives. 
Advanced cameras with facial recognition that 
allows some games to be played only with 
gestures. ( Eye vs. Kinect) 
Blu-Ray compatible.
DIFFERENCES 
• PS4 Hard Drive is easily upgradable which 
proves useful for gamers with large game 
libraries 
• Xbox One is $430 
• PS4 is $350 with separately sold camera for 
$45 
• Xbox holds superior voice recognition and 
facial recognition technology 
• Xbox camera can monitor mood and heart 
rate 
• Xbox voice command works 9 out of 10 
times, much more reliable than PS4
 The first received 1,992 retweets and 731 favorites, while 
the second saw 6,820 retweets and 2,029 favorites. Next followed three 
tweets about how the PS4 would not require regular Internet check-ins. 
These posts were retweeted 7,458, 3,382, and 3,672 times. They were 
also highly favorited: 3,001, 1,151, and 1,437 respectively. None of the 
tweets mention Microsoft or the Xbox One by name, but by blitzing 
social media channels with tweets clearing distinguishing its approach 
from the unpopular decisions of the competitor, Sony generated a huge 
swell of positive feedback. 
 The release of an excellent video ad. The campaign, titled “Greatness 
Awaits,” shows an actor addressing the viewer as an elaborate panorama of 
video game tropes and in-jokes are performed behind him. 
 It was a striking spot that has more than 11.54 million views on the 
official PlayStation YouTube channel as of this writing. 
 Despite the huge success of this formal ad spot, Sony’s most popular 
YouTube video is another dig at Microsoft. The “Official PlayStation Used 
Game Instructional Video” clocks in at less than 30 seconds, but has garnered 
just shy of 14 million views.

 Microsoft’s social reach may be smaller than Sony’s — 
the Xbox Twitter feed has just over 1.77 million followers compared 
with PlayStation’s 2.42 million — but the attitude of the company is 
more friendly and conversational. 
 Microsoft and the Xbox One, which has more traditionally been 
a family-focused console. The top video content for the Xbox One is 
more educational and straightforward than the glitzy approach of a 
well-produced ad. The brand’s “Unboxing Xbox One” video has 
more than 2.43 million views, and views of the “Xbox One Unveil 
Video” exceed 6.3 million.

CONCLUSION 
Xbox need to concentrate on their product rather than adopting irrelevant 
and unauthenticated ways of competitive strategy. 
Eg.: Ditching PS4 @ $100, Paying Youtubers to promote Xbox one. 
As far as PS4 is concerned they are more focused on their product and 
they believe to provide a revolutionary experience to the user, in every 
next knock. 
As a debut player Xbox one sale have reached $5 Million while PS4 
have set the trend $9 Million during the year. 
Both consoles will be available to customers later in 2013. Watching the 
social media response this fall will certainly be educational about how 
these products may fare in the long run and how well the brands can 
stick to their social guns.

As a debut player Xbox one sale have reached $5 Million while PS4 have set the trend $9 Million during the year. Both consoles will be available to customers later in 2013.
