Get the Group Code &
Create an account

          Top
Get Group Code
Go to: refworks.ucalgary.ca and click “Get the Group Code”




              Login with your IT Username
              and Password (beginning of
              your UofC email address)
For Alumni Only
            If you are a graduate of the UofC, you have
            access to RefWorks. Follow the instructions on
            the last slide and, instead of logging in, Click
            “Alumni Group Code”




Enter eID information.
For more information
on your eID click here.
Enter Group Code




     Enter group code in space provided
Log in to RefWorks 2.0 by clicking link
Sign up for an account
RefWorks 2.0

Export references


            Top
EXPORTING
 For   information on exporting:
     Go to the Exporting tab
     Check out my Exporting presentation

Create a New folder &
Organize References into
Folder

            Top
Creating a Folder




• Click “New Folder”
• Name folder
• Click “Create”
Adding Reference to Folder(s)




• Select citations
• Select folder on pull-down menu
• Note: One reference can go in multiple folders

Selecting Output Styles


            Top
 Login to RefWorks
 In Main Toolbar, select Bibliography >
  Output style manager
Output Style Manager

Search for
specific styles




                                         Arrows will add or
Choose your
                                         delete output
favourite style
                                         styles from
                                         favourites




 Choose     favourite output styles for creating
    bibliographies
        Must choose favourites BEFORE using Write-N-Cite

            Top
Creating a Bibliography (using RefWorks)




      Login to RefWorks
      In Main toolbar, Select Bibliography > Create
   Choose output style
   Choose File Type (choose Word for Windows or Word for Mac if
    wanted in Word)
   Choose “References to include” (Narrow by folder or My List)
   Create Bibliography
   Bibliography will be created

RefWorks Guide: How To

  Write-N-Cite in Word please visit the
  RefWorks Guide and view the “How-To”
  tab
 How to use Write-N-Cite in Word (video)
  can be found here
   Download Write-N-Cite from RefWorks
   Go to Tools > Write-N-Cite
       Download v.III for PC or v.2.5 for Mac
   Open Word
   Go to Ad-Ins in Word Ribbon
   Open Write-N-Cite
   Login
   Begin writing in Word
   When ready to cite, go to Write-N-Cite
   Click “Cite” link next to reference you want to cite
   A temporary citation, highlighted in grey, will appear in your Word document
   When ready to format, go to Write-N-Cite
   Scroll to top
   Click “Bibliography”
 Choose  output style
 Click Create Bibliography
 In-text
        citations and bibliography will be
  created

  • 4. Get Group Code Go to: refworks.ucalgary.ca and click “Get the Group Code” Login with your IT Username and Password (beginning of your UofC email address)
