2. Ebooks and Audiobooks are available
through the Public Library
 If you have a library card, log in to the library site and search
for digital materials, ebooks, and audiobooks
 For the first time, follow directions to download the reader
OverDrive; it may also be useful to have a Kindle account
 Select your title, click “check out” and “download”: choosing
Kindle as format allows your book to appear in your Kindle
account
 Your book will disappear from your account on the due date,
or you can click to return it early; you can also renew it online
 Try it out on your own, and stop by the library if you have
questions

4. Learn how to get set up the first time through the library E-Media page

5. Make your search, look for
the right format, and
download or place a hold.

7. If you have a Kindle account, one easy choice is to download your
title as a “Kindle eBook”

8. While you’re in your LAPL account, Download your title.

9. Select a format to download. Choose ePub (or sometimes Kindle) to
download to your device. Choose OverDrive Read to read online without
downloading.

 Glendale Public Library: catalog.glendalepubliclibrary.org
 Beverly Hills Public Library: roxbury.beverlyhills.org
 County of Los Angeles Public Library: colapublib.org
You can set multiple libraries up in your OverDrive account, so if one
library doesn’t have the title, another might.
Tip: It might be a smoother process through your tablet/iPad or
phone. Try different devices if you hit a roadblock.

11. eBooks are available through Destiny,
HW’s library catalog; select FollettShelf
Go to FollettShelf

13. Read the book online or download to your device
by checking it out. You’ll need to log in to
FollettShelf using your HW username/password to
check out ebooks through FollettShelf.
