2. Initial Reaction
• I began thinking of a what type of game I wanted to make and how this would
appeal to a teenage demographic. I wanted to make a two player fighter game
which I knew would take a lot of effort to animate. The fighter idea would appeal
to a teenage audience although it would probably appeal more to a male
audience. I like this idea because even though it would be difficult to animate I
think I would enjoy working on it.
• I could do a runner style game similar to temple run as it would be fairly simple to
animate and plan however I don’t think that I’d be pushing my self with this idea
unlike the fighting game idea. The runner game would appeal to a teenage target
audience.
• Another idea I had was for a horror style game similar to something like Until
Dawn where the decisions that you make in the game can effect the story and the
characters although since it’s an animation it would have to be a run through of a
small section in the game. I think I would enjoy working on this although it could
also be difficult to animate. I think this game would appeal to a teenage audience
as choice based games have been becoming more popular recently so this could
make it more appealing.
6. Mood Board Analysis
The character designs have bright colours so they stand out
against the background and are recognisable. I could use this for
the character designs in my animation. The names of the
characters on the health bar are in bold fonts with all capitals.
The characters arms or legs become distorted when moving to
show motion which is something I want to do in my game. Facial
expressions are used on the characters although I want focus
more on the movement of the characters as it would take me
too long to animate.
