Adam Manning, chairman of the Friends of Weston Shore, gave a talk about the history of Weston Shore in Southampton. The talk discussed the Roman settlement of Clausentum in the area, the early medieval town of Hamwic, and the famous Seaweed Hut fixture. It also covered Netley Castle built in the 1540s, Weston Grove House, rolling mills that operated historically, and literature inspired by the area. Manning concluded by promoting the Friends of Weston Shore organization and their online presence.
