One Risk function was formed in 2011 following the appointment of the Co-Chief Risk Officers, formerly heads of
Market and Credit Risk. The Risk function is responsible for evaluating, monitoring and controlling Market, Credit,
Contingent, Operational and Settlement Risk to ensure comprehensive and effective control and independent
challenge to support the Firm in its commercial objectives. Risk works with business units to independently
quantify the appropriate level of risk for the client, for the firm and for our shareholders, applying appropriate
governance and control to ensure the right decisions are made using accurate calculation, assessment and
recording of exposure and risk.
Main Function
The Risk Projects (RP) team, based in London, are responsible for delivering business change to the Risk
function’s infrastructure and processes. The operating model resembles that of a consulting firm with work being
carried out by teams assembled according to project needs and team member expertise. The RP Team consists of
Programme Management, User Acceptance Testing as well as Business Analysis capability. The Business
Analysis (BA) team forms the largest group in this department, and is divided into three areas – one supporting
Risk Engine Calculations, another supporting Sanctioning and Workflow and finally Reporting and Data.
The Risk Engines BA team specialises in supporting changes to the sophisticated risk calculation systems and is
divided into Credit Risk and Market Risk. The successful applicant will join within one of these areas.
Main Duties
The Risk Engine BA team are responsible for writing business specifications, preparing discussion documents,
performing quantitative impact studies on risk engine changes and conduct user acceptance testing. The role
involves close interaction with senior risk managers, quantitative analysts and IT on the development of risking
methodologies and their implementation. Main duties and responsibilities include:
Investigate and analyse new risk engine requirements from risk managers and other stakeholders
Understand and document the requirements, verify IT functional specifications, perform quantitative impact
analysis and assist in or carry out UAT
Organise and lead meetings to gather requirements
Maintain up to date knowledge on risking methodologies, system infrastructure and capabilities and
interdependencies in the Bank
Represent the team in various working groups and communicate timelines, progress and dependencies to
other parties in the Bank
Work as a member of an effective team, contributing to ad hoc requests without losing focus on primary

Person Requirements
You will have recent experience as a BA in either Credit or Market Risk or a similar role and be looking for your
next challenge. You will be a great team player and work effectively at all levels, from other Analysts in your team,
to Business Stakeholders. You will bring with you a good foundation in risk knowledge, a strong passion for
delivering successful business change and be looking to drive your career forward.
Personal
Working within a large BA team you will have first-class communication skills; comfortable with Stakeholder
interaction as well as with Business Users and IT. In addition you will be well versed in business analysis; having
worked with stakeholders to understand their business processes and therefore driven out their requirements.

Business
Strong product and/or risk knowledge will be key to your success and you will be comfortable dealing with the
stakeholders and collaborators inside and outside the Risk department. These will include Legal, Collateral
Management, Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Finance and Information Technology.
Strong Business Analysis skills, including writing of Business Requirements Documents, Operating Models
and Business Process Flows
Knowledge of BII and BIII Regulations
Business analysis for risk management systems (e.g. front office pricing platforms, Monte Carlo risk
systems, or market risk VaR systems)
Business analysis experience with an Investment Bank, Consultancy or Trading Operation (e.g. trading
arm of corporate, asset manager, hedge fund, etc)
Knowledge of derivatives pricing
Understanding and experience in project lifecycle techniques
Data analysis skills (Excel / Access / VBA / SQL)
Knowledge of CVA
