We cannot be best at everything, so we have chosen to focus on a handful of target industries and strive to become experts not only on the software side of the business, but also in understanding how the industry as a whole works. Because we focus on industries we know, our highly experienced consultants can offer deep industry knowledge and future-proof products that bring customers closer to their business. All of these selected industries fit within the four core processes on the previous slide.
We learn and share our knowledge through Customer Advisory Councils where we discuss issues in our focused industries and draft functionality roadmaps. The councils are led by our Global Industry Directors and R&D decision makers. As a result, our solution contains industry-specific functionality that is best-of-breed and built to be flexible enough to cope with industry changes. The open architecture is widely compatible with existing industry-specific solutions. IFS offers a tailored and flexible solution that mirrors the customer’s systems rather than theirs having to adapt to ours.

Regardless of geography. Designed for international operations from the start.
Your operations use the same product, no matter where they are located.
On multiple platforms. IFS Applications is designed to work on small screens in a portable setting through our Touch Apps, as well as on stationary equipment.
Technological platforms will not hamper your business opportunities.
For any company size. Designed for mid-size multi-site operations from the start.
Your operations use the same product, no matter how big or small they are.
Available in the cloud. Regardless of how you want your enterprise software to run, we have a model that suits your needs. On your own servers, hosting in the cloud or even fully managed cloud solutions are available to your business.
The tools you use to run your business are meant to enhance your productivity. But too often, you end up spending a lot of time struggling to use these very tools. That’s why IFS Applications, with its focus on user experience and productivity, is taking usability to new heights. So you can spend more time taking care of business, and less time struggling with your software.
IFS Applications provides an attractive and intuitive work environment, whether you’re using tablet and touch, laptop or desktop. Ease of use and time-saving features help you work more efficiently and use the application to its full potential. An attractive design with familiar features that include a search facility, direct navigation and an icon-driven menu build confidence, encouraging you to leave your comfort zone and explore the possibilities the solution has to offer. All of this means you become more engaged and use the application more readily to complete tasks, and initiate new practices and procedures.
IFS Applications works in a similar way to a web browser; you can navigate using hyperlinks, favorites and other tools. This makes it as easy to travel around your enterprise as smoothly as you surf the web. And by using tools like ‘Recent Screens’, you can multi-task and work through large amounts of information without becoming overwhelmed.
No two companies or employees are the same. IFS Applications allows you to adapt the user experience to your needs and to the environment in which it is used. Novice users can start with a simple, minimal look and add more and more features and screen elements as their skills and requirements progress. IFS Applications can be used with a small set of visible tools, freeing up screen real estate on smaller laptops and ultra-mobile PCs. If you have a bigger display, you can take advantage of working with multiple windows, and with more tools and related information visible simultaneously.
The working day with IFS Applications starts with IFS Lobby™, a focused reception area where you can monitor at a glance the information that matters to you, and take action on it. IFS Lobby is delivered out of the box for key roles and processes. It isn’t just for managerial roles or providing an executive overview; it is there to support all operational aspects of the business, at all levels of the organization. Just as importantly, IFS Lobby can easily be tailored to fit even closer to the processes of any organization. Administrators can modify the interface and introduce new content on the fly for groups of workers without requiring developer skills, system updates or restarts. And employees can personalize their lobbies and add favorite searches, reports, news feeds, links and other items of interest. IFS Lobby is designed for remote and mobile working, and can be easily accessed on smartphones, tablets and other devices.
IFS Streams™ is a notification system designed to keep you close to the pulse of your business. For example, if you post a question on IFS Talk, any responses from colleagues will automatically appear in your stream. The facility fully integrates with IFS Tasks™, so that assignments can be automatically routed to individual users.
You can also use IFS Streams to eliminate the need to remember to go back and check or follow up on things. Instead of relying on post-it notes and emails to yourself, you can subscribe to receive automatic alerts for every eventuality. Let’s say you have a critical delivery and you need to know if there are any delays to the delivery date. Instead of having to repeatedly go in and check whether the date is holding or has been changed, you can subscribe to changes on that order and be instantly notified in IFS Streams if the date changes.
[Note to presenter: This slide is IFS Applications 9 specific.]
For a number of years, IFS has been a major force in Sri Lanka’s IT industry. We have focused a lot of our R&D and support organization in our two local offices (Colombo and Kandy) and employ over 700 people in IFS Sri Lanka. This makes us one of the largest IT companies in the country, which gives us both a large influence on national IT initiatives (such as SLASSCOM) but also responsibility to help the country grow in this important industry.
In many parts of the world, education is not a matter of course, and many times it is economic conditions that determine whether a person can receive training or not. IFS has therefore made significant investments in helping financially vulnerable people get training that leads to work, which in turn affects the wider community in a positive way. We collaborate with Sri Lanka’s largest universities through various initiatives to offer more people the opportunity to study at university level. Through one of the programs, IFS covers tuition fees and living costs during the time the student is studying for a university degree. Investing in scholarship programs and supporting the universities in Sri Lanka benefit society in the long term. IFS not only helps with scholarships to economically disadvantaged students, but also sponsors a professorship at the University of Moratuwa. IFS Sri Lanka employees regularly give guest lectures at universities to offer students insight into how global IT companies work and IFS donates equipment to the computer labs on campus.
