at least once in a month”.
The report also gave the insight that 80% of the surveyed customers are more likely to
shop online if free shipping option is available.
17. Future of digital technology
BLOCKCHAIN:
Blockchain, is also referred as Distributed Ledger Technology [DLI], makes the history of
any digital assets unalterable and transparent through the use of decentralization and
cryptographic hashing. Blockchain is a promising and revolutionary technology because,
it helps to reduce risk, eliminate fraud by bringing transparency in a scalable way for the
users. Here a couple of the advantages of blockchain technology are listed below.
The blockchain technology allows for verification without having to be dependent on
third-parties.
The transactions are recorded in chronological order. Thus, all the blocks in the
blockchain are time stamped
18. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
Artificial intelligence is no more a fantasy as it is marking its presence in number of
industries. The major breakthroughs that our generation has witnessed are in the service
industry in which the chat representatives have been replaced by chatbots. This is just a
tip of the iceberg. The customer service industry is utilizing the advantages of AI
powered solutions. Not only it reduces the human effort but also it improves more
accuracy and precision.
AUTONOMOUS DRIVING:
Autonomous car is a vehicle capable of sensing the environment with the help of
sensors and cameras and operates without human assistance. A driver is not required
to take control of the vehicle.Autonomous cars works based on sensors, actuators,
complex algorithms and machine learning systems and powerful processors and
software. Autonomous car can create a map of its surroundings based on the variety of
software and sensors situated in the different parts of the vehicle.
19. EXTENDED REALITY:
The extended reality is an emerging umbrella term which consists of
Augmented Reality [AR]
Virtual Reality [VR]
Mixed Reality [MR]
And much more that are still to be created.
AUGMENTED REALITY:
In the augmented reality, virtual information and the objects are overlaid on the real
world. This experience enhances the real world with digital details such as images, texts,
animations etc. one can access this experience through AR glass or through tablets,
laptops, smartphones etc.
20. VIRTUAL REALITY:
In contrast to the augmented reality, in the virtual reality experience, users are fully
immersed in a simulated digital environment. Individuals must put on the VR headset to
get the 360 degrees view of the artificial world that fools the brain in believing that they
were walking in moon or outer space etc. that were programmed by the experts. The
gaming and entertainment industry were the early adopted of this technology.
MIXED REALITY:
In mixed reality, both the digital and real-world objects coexist and can interact with one
another. This is one of the latest technologies which is often referred to as hybrid reality.
It requires MR headset and a lot more powerful processor than the VR and AR.
Companies are exploring ways to put this technology to work to solve the problems and
make their business better.
21. SUMMARY
From the last decade, the technology become an irreplaceable part of our day to day
life. Notice how our life is surrounded by the gadgets and tech appliances.
The PC at the desk and smartphone in our hands, wifi routers, smart watches and a lot
more. All these are the examples of how technology have transformed every aspects of
our life.
The technological impact on the consumers can be classified into two categories.
Positive impacts
Negative impacts
22. POSITIVE IMPACTS ON CONSUMERS:
The cell phone is almost inevitable. Nowadays after the introduction of smartphones in
the market, these 5 to 6.5inch screen can make your life easier. This phone can do
everything from taking high resolution photographs, watching pixel perfect High-
resolution videos, high graphic smartphone games, browsing the internet, making a
video call and even monitoring your health and fitness.
NEGATIVE IMPACTS ON CONSUMER:
Although there are lots of positive points about the technology there are also negative
effects of technology on humans.Although the smartphone made our life simple, it
makes people lazier. The rise of dependency on these technologies make peoples life
sedated and less active in lifestyle. In this modern era, the addiction to smartphone by
the young generation increases rapidly. This is a serious issue that needs to be
addressed in effective way.
24. Presentation script:
I would like to introduce myself, I am AKSHAY and I am from India.
I am very much excited to present my project.
Before getting into presentation I would like to show some interesting facts about the mighty
internet.
The internet you see today is expanding faster than you can imagine.
The estimates and data released by Google have revealed some unbelievable facts about the
internet.
25. According to google,
1. The internet consists of 9 million Terabytes of data back in 2019.
As of October 14th 2018, at least 4.46 billion pages exist on the internet. THAT IS HUGE!!
2. As of October 2018, there were more than 1.9 billion websites on the internet.
To add more numbers to the data, as of 14th October 2018, there were around 441 million
Tumblr blogs on the web.
75.8 million blogs and business sites in existence are on wordpress.
Moreover, more than 5 million blog posts are published every single day.
4 billion out of the 7 billion people on the earth are already online.
This is expected to grow even more by 2025.
400 hours of video contents are uploaded on youtube every minute.
By the time you reached this paragraph, 1600+hours of video content have been uploaded to
26. youtube.
Speaking about the user engagement, the massive video sharing site serves more than 1
billion people every month and an average internet user spends 4 hours every month on
YouTube.
Let us go back to the topic.
Let me recollect the key points from the task 1.
The origins of the internet date back nearly 51 years, with the U.S military’s funding of a
research network named Arpanet in 1969.
The number of computer connected to the internet has grown exponentially, while the number
of users has risen from a handful of computer scientists to 1.5 billion consumers by 2010.
As the global internet usage and speed is concerned:
27. Globally the number of internet users increased from only 413 million in2000 to over 4.388
billion in 2019.
Taiwan has the fastest internet speed in the world overtaking
Singapore by the average speed of 85.02 Mbps.
Yemen has the slowest internet speed in the world with an
average speed of 0.38 Mbps.
The social media became a part of every modern human in
the world.
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were seen to be the most popular among the social media
platforms available on the internet.
As for as India is concerned, 97 percent of users use phone as one of the devices to access
internet.
28. the internet usage is more gender balanced than ever before with women comprising 42 percent of
total internet users.
Internet plays a major role in research, entertainment and ecommerce.
The future of technology makes fantasy to reality.
The block chain technology and artificial intelligence bridging the gap between the so called fantasy
to reality. AWESOME
The automatic driving have finally came to existance. The greates example for this technology is
TESLA automatic cars.
The extended reality improves the experience of the users especially in the gaming industry.
For every technology there are both advantages and disadvantges.
The technology makes life simple, better and improves efficiency
29. Smatphone gives you all the informations you need in less than 6 inch screen which is insane.
Technology makes the modern business easier and effective.
In the same time there are also some disadvantages.
The youths get distracted by spending more time on the internet which affects the academic
performance.
False information and toxic contents influence the consumers which I feel dangerous to the society.
I would like to conclude my speech by saying that there will be always positive and negative points
in everything.
Drinking water is good for health but
If you consume water more than the threshold level it becomes dangerous to life.
I encourage the consumers to utilize the positive influence of the technology and try to avoid the
negative influence.
30. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to express my views about the technology and internet.
