Topic is:-
Romantic movement of literature and It’s
initiators.

2. Romantic literary movement and it’s initiators:-
The Romantic literary movement started actually in year 1798,
at that time George-iii was monarch of England. He was a
mentally ill person. He did not cared about nation, mass and
country.
Why literary movement of England started ?
Due to the age of reasons or enlightenment age people loosed
emotions, feeling, live of nature, love of art. Therefore the
writers started the writings in the basis of all above things.
They started writing on the basis of experiments.

3. • American got independence in July 1776.
 Watch word/ motto was liberty of nation.
• Industrial Revolution came in 18 century in England.
 Watch word/ motto was freedom of many works.
• French Revolution came in 1789-1799.
 Watch word/ motto freedom of individual.
• Romantic Revolution followed all these Revolutions.
 Watch word/ motto was freedom of writing on the basis of
feelings, emotions, love.

What ever your minds says.

4.  Few characters of romantic movement:-
• It’s also called the second step of Renaissance or age of Shakespeare.
• Authors used common and simple language and no roles so a common country side
person can understand and interpret.
• Authors used natural sceneries, hills, mountains, lakes, rivers, flowers, village life
and folk life.
• Themes are naturalism, supernaturalism and humanism etcetera.
• Poetry of Romantic age was used to convey feelings thoughts and imaginations. And
developed as literary genera of Romanticism.
• Prose was also based one same criteria.
• Drama was not much famous it’s a single difference of Romantic and Renaissance.
• The slogan of Romantic period was “Art for Art Sake”.
• Some critics called Romantic Revival as the “ Revival of Wonder”.

5. Initiators:-
• It started literally in year 1798.
• In the same year a combined work was published called “ The Lyrical
Ballads”. And it was a wonderful work by two legends you know.
• The William Wordsworth and
• Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
• The published this first work which contain full art of
• Naturalism
• Supernaturalism and
• Humanism.

6.  Lyrical Ballad :-
• A renown literary work jointly.
• 1st Addition was published in 1798.
• It was without preface and called experimental work.
• It contains 19 poems of Wordsworth and
• It contains 04 poems of S.T Coleridge
• S.T Coleridge was Star of this addition.
• 2nd Addition was published in1800.
• It’s also called preface addition.
• It’s star was Wordsworth obviously.

7. • In 1802 it’s 3rd addition was published.
• In 1805 it’s 4th addition was published.
• They wrote on the basis of
 Nature
 Metaphysical works
 Mythology
 Humanity.
• Both belonged to the first generation poets.
• Also called lake poets.
