“reminder calls before an appointment,
reducing wait times and creating a
more welcoming environment”
“While pediatric clinics might see a no-show
rate of below 5 percent, urban family clinics
often see no-show rates between 10 and 20
percent.”
“Certain outpatient and surgical clinics -- think
colonoscopies, endoscopies, pulmonary tests and
other procedures that require special prep or
diets by the patient -- have even higher rates.”
“Those who skip regular appointments often
end up needing more costly emergency care
down the road”
“Patients most likely to miss
appointments are those who are
single, under the age of 34,
carrying Medicaid insurance (or
no insurance at all), as well as
older patients recently divorced or

Affinity Mapping
Bundle your ideas into groups.
Design thinking was invented by IDEO’s David M Kelley in 1991
It is an approach to problem solving with a focus on the people.
- Before diving into the Mini Design Sprint, let’s learn about what is a Design Sprint.
A Design Sprint is an accelerated version of Design Thinking.
It is a process to introduce new products, service or feature to the market. It helps with answering critical business questions through design, prototyping and testing ideas with customers.
This process typically takes 5 days.

Patient no-shows and inefficiencies in scheduling cost the U.S. healthcare system more than $150 billion a year. Growing research has shown that health institutions and clinics do not properly address chronic patient cancellations or reschedulings, and therefore are just as much to blame for these staggering costs.
