2. Introduction
• People do many things in life that they
afterward regret.
• Either they say things that afterward they
regret having said, or else engage in sinful
activities that bring a bitter sorrow.
• And the greatest cause of this regret is the
realization that it can never be undone.
• Wouldn’t it be nice if there were some things
in which we would never regret?
3. • Yes, there are some things and actions that
do not bring about the slightest feeling of
regret or sorrow.
• Of course, we are talking about spiritual
matters.
• And for this sermon to have meaning I will
be suggesting that when we do something,
we do it to the fullest for as long as we live.
• Notice some of these things.
4. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET BECOMING
A CHRISTIAN:
• Note: We have seen people who have turned away from God
and the church and they seemingly say that they have no
regrets for doing so,
• Yet this happens because they are not willing to fight for their
soul in opposition to Satan trying to keep them away from
salvation.
• So, if you remain faithful:
• When you have reached old age and look back on your life,
you will not feel remorseful for having obeyed the gospel...
• Out of all your past life experiences you will not regret having
obeyed the plan of salvation, thus becoming a Christian.
• Things you will remember with joy are:
5. • Your BELIEVING in the Gospel...
• Mark 16:16 ..."He who believes and is baptized will be
saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned.
• Your REPENTING of your disobedience (sins) toward
God...
• Acts 3:19 ..."Repent therefore and be converted, that
your sins may be blotted out, so that times of
refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
• CONFESSING your faith that Jesus is the Son of God
who died for your sins...
• Romans 10:9 ...that if you confess with your mouth
the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
6. • and being BAPTIZED for remission of your sins...
• Acts 8:36 ...Now as they went down the road, they came to
some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What
hinders me from being baptized?" 37 Then Philip said, "If you
believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and
said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." 38 So he
commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the
eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39
Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the
Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more;
and he went on his way rejoicing.
• The day you obeyed the plan of salvation will be a day you
remember as a happy day, the day YOU became a child of
God...
• Romans 6:17 ..."But God be thanked, that ye were the
servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form
of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free
from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."
7. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET BEING A
MEMBER OF THE LORD'S CHURCH:
• Being a member of the Lord's church is indeed a
precious, exalted privilege...
• Ephesians 1:22 ..."And hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the
church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that
filleth all in all."
• Matthew 11:11 ..."Verily I say unto you, Among them
that are born of women there hath not risen a greater
than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least
in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.“
• John the Baptist was never a Christian, and Jesus said
the least in the kingdom is better than he.
8. • To be a part of the church for which the Lord gave his
blood is an honor...
• Acts 20:28 ...Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and
to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath
made you over-seers, to feed the church of God,
which he hath purchased with his own blood.(KJV)
• By being in the Lord's church You enjoy...
• SALVATION...
• 2 Timothy 2:10 ..."Therefore I endure all things for the
elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation
which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."(KJV)
• RECONCILIATION...
• Ephesians 2:16 ..."And that he might reconcile both
unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the
enmity thereby:"
9. • FREEDOM FROM CONDEMNATION...
• Romans 8:1 ..."There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit."
• ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS...
• Ephesians 1:3 ..."Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us
with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in
Christ:"(KJV)
10. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET STUDYING
GOD'S WORD...
• Time spent in studying God's Word is time well
spent...
• Psalms 1:1 ...Blessed is the man Who walks not in the
counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of
sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his
delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he
meditates day and night.
• The Word of truth is that by which we are
BEGOTTEN...
• James 1:18 ..."Of his own will begat he us with the
word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of
his creatures."
11. • BY ITS INSTRUCTIONS WE CAN BE SAVED
• 1 Corinthians 15:1 ..."Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received,
and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in
vain."
• THROUGH IT WE ARE EDIFIED...
• Acts 20:32 ..."And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to
the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give
you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."
• WE ARE SANCTIFIED...
• John 17:17 ..."Sanctify them through thy truth: `thy word is truth."
• AND WE ARE PURIFIED...
• 1 Peter 1:22 ..."Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the
truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see
that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born
again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of
God, which liveth and abideth for ever."(KJV)
12. CONCLUSION:
• AND THROUGH STUDY OF HIS WORD WE ARE
ABLE TO TEACH OTHERS THE GOSPEL...
• 2 Timothy 2:2 ...And the things which thou hast
heard from me among many witnesses, the same
commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to
teach others also. ASV
• You will never regret becoming a Christian and
being added to the Lord's church; nor will you ever
regret time spent in a study of His word by which
you will grow stronger and become better
prepared to bring others to Him.
• The question now has to be: are you ready?
