2. Respect is what makes us live in harmony with the people around
us. We should show respect to everyone regardless of their age, race,
beliefs, or statue.
Respect is like a cord that unifies and strengthens our relationship
with one another. It is shown in different ways and must be given to
the people regardless of who they are. Respecting other people
means being polite, courteous or considerate and treating others the
way that we want to be treated. Respect is something that is not
given for free. It must be something that must be earned.
3. We have to prove that we are worthy of respect before we expect
to it from others,. It is not something that is given based on wealth,
status, appearance, or beliefs. It is given based om how we treat
others, how we speak to them, and how valued we make them feel.
Therefore, if we want to be given respect, let us learn to give respect
well.
Showing respect means making a conscious effort to avoid
hurting others by being careful with our words and actions around
them and by treating them fairly.
4. Being respectful is something that we should learn while we are still
young. Respecting other people goes beyond using polite terms such
“po” or “opo” or kissing the hands of the elderly, rather it is a way
of life. Respect for others is not learned overnight. It takes
understanding, patience, and kindness to treat other people with
respect. There will be times that people will have different ways of
doing things, but we have to respect them by treating them with
courtesy and politeness. A lot of children today seem to be impatient
and self-absorbed that they only think themselves and forget to
consider the people around them. They tend to lose their temper
easily just because they do not get what they want, or they do not
recognize that others need help.
5. Respect means having to behave in a manner that does not trouble
other people and that includes having good manners when dealing
with family members, friends, teachers, and even stranger, too.
Practicing proper etiquette when talking, dining, treating our
friends, the disabled, the elderly, borrowing and using other people’s
things, meeting other people, and expressing opinions is a way of
showing our respect for others people. Being respectful is way to
live in harmony with the people around us.
6. Respect is essential in keeping may relationships. It is important that
I show respect for others so they will not get hurt. I have to be
careful with my speech and actions as they affect the people around
me. Respect is love shown in actions and it always begins in my
heart as I decide to love other people. Behaving properly and
treating people the right way are ways of showing respect for them
and even for myself.
7. “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in
order to bring praise God.”
-Romans 15:7
