As one example...
Understanding the needs of the community as well as the needs of community services in terms of a
newer facility, helped to champion the creation of the Family Success Center that occupies the newly
renovated former health department building. The building includes great space for Community Services
as well as for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Florida Community Health Center (OB/GYN and
Pediatric Services), and Transit Services.
Another example is the work with the 4 county coalition to build a new medical examiner's facility on the
campus of IRSC. Understanding the politics and dynamics of the 3 other counties, medical examiner, the
state attorney, IRSC, and the local legislative delegation and working to get them on the same page of
the same book has been a huge effort aided by Government Affairs and Facilities.

Safety for employees and public have been a continuous focus of Alphonso. As part of his job
responsibilities, Alphonso has championed the consolidation of notification systems that will provide
appropriate information to employees and public. In addition, Alphonso has led the development of a
notification for all the County buildings to ensure employees are notified of any incidents. Alphonso
continues to show his experience in 911 and emergency management operations. He oversees the
implements on of a new Computer Aided-Dispatch System along with new 911 telephone systems. His
involvement in emergency management has demonstrated a positive change in the operation.

development of a notification system for all county facilities that keeps everyone informed of any on-site

county's priorities. He has been at the forefront of the Homelessness Taskforce, Opioid taskforce,

Externally, Alphonso has served as community ambassador the the Boys & Girls Club, on the Chamber of
Commerce, United Way, Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, President of the National Forum for Black
Public Administrators (Treasure Coast Chapter). He led the development of the one St. Lucie youth
conference and helped to expand events (Juneteenth celebration, cultural arts & healthy community) in
Lincoln Park.

ensure project participants are kept in the loop along with our municipal partners (as the projects
dictate). Alphonso keeps the Board informed of critical items and their progress and as the co-champion
for the new ERP system is leading the effort on a project that will impact every internal customer in the
County.
