2. In north America there was a small town, Tarry Town and near
it, a valley which was called Sleepy Hollow. The people of this
place were native Americans and Dutch. They believed in ghosts
and the most famous story was about “the Headless
Horseman”, the ghost of the soldier who lost his head.
3. In Tarry Town, there was a school
where the schoolmaster was Ichabod
Crane. He loved food, young laidies and
singing psalms. Ichabod believed in
ghosts.
4. One day Ichabod met Katrina of Baltus Van Tassel´s
daughter, an old farmer. She was young and very
beautiful, and Ichabod wanted to marry her because she was
going to inherit the farm.
5. Brom Bones, a young man of
Tarry Town, wanted to
marry Katrina too. For
this, he started playing
tricks on Ichabod.
Then, the schoolmaster was
invited to a party at the
Van Tassel´s farm.
6. Ichabod went to the party with an old, borrowed
horse, Gunpowder. In the party Ichabod heard Brom´s story
about the Headless Horseman. Then, he was rejected by
Katrina, for this he left the party quickly, very angry and
sad.
7. When Ichabod left the party, saw the Headless Horseman
and he left scared. Ichabod and the Headless Horseman
raced to the brigde, the ghost was supposed to
disappear, but instead it knocked Ichabod off his horse with
his head.
8. The next day, Ichabod disappeared and the people thought
different things about this:
He had drowned in the water.
He was taken away by the Headless Horseman.
He went to New York city.
Nobody knew the real story about Ichabod Crane.
