• It is important to breakdown your supply chain into different
processes using the SCOR model.

• Planning your supply chain is the first and most important step of
breaking down your supply chain, and it sets the benchmark steps to
reach it.

5. Source Inputs
• Source Inputs is the same thing as purchasing, you must find suppliers
that will add value your supply chain and products.

6. Make Products and Services
• Every business “makes” something (product or service), does not
necessarily mean manufacturing.

7. Deliver Products
• A product has no value to a company until the product reaches the
customer

8. Return Products
• Having good reverse supply chain allows a company to keep good
relations with its customers and distributors.

9. Enable Supply Chains
• Enabling the supply chain is implementing software and processing
systems that will tie your supply chain together.

10. Prioritize Goals
• As a company, you must decide which goals are more important than
others and focus more on achieving them.

11. Calculate Total Cost
• Total cost can help you determine if cutting costs in certain places will
be helpful to the company or not.

12. Manage Competing Goals
• In order to be more efficient and reduce cost, you must properly
manage your sales and manufacturing goals.

13. Mitigate Risks
• Companies tend to get over ambitious, a risk register can be used to
help identify risks and provide solutions.

14. Invest in Flexibility
• The supply chain needs to able to contend with unforeseen
circumstances ( changes in global markets, nature, political
conditions), while also managing to keep cost low.

15. Increase Visibility With a Control Tower
• A control tower increases visibility by allowing managers to make a
plan and react to any changes that may occur.

16. Supply Chain Innovation
• Innovating your supply chain means finding new ways of doing things
that will improve and add value to your supply chain, and in return
increasing your profit.

• Technology and social media can help company get more sales,
advertise products and communicate with customers.

18. Internet and Data Trends
• We can use internet and data trends to improve our equipment hence
improving the supply chain, and it can also be used to learn more
about customers through data collection.

19. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Artificial intelligence should be used in supply chain for collecting and
processing data and information, and humans should make the
ultimate decision.

20. Blockchain
• A way to record transactions between companies by allowing the data
to be saved onto many computers, and also improves trust and
accountability.

21. Automation, Robotics, and Drones
• Automation and robotics have made some aspects of supply chain
more efficient and have started to revolutionize the field.

22. Get the Right People in the Right Positions
Education and training is important in making sure that the positions
are being filled by the right people.

23. Select the Right Technology
Your company’s goals, employees, and strategic plan should not be
overlooked when choosing the right technology

• Collaborating internally is important because it allows you to make
sure that boundaries are not being crossed between different
departments, and it also allows the departments keep the company’s
