This document provides tips for painting eyebrows and eyelashes in a realistic way: - Eyebrows are unique to each person and not perfectly uniform, with hairs pointing in different directions. They should be visible but not solid. - For eyebrows, start with an outline layer as a guide, then add hairs within (feminine) or filling (masculine) the shape. - Eyelashes are thicker at the root, thinner at the ends, and don't all face the same direction or have uniform thickness. Build them up in layers for realism.

2. Just like with eye shape & color, every brow is unique
• Male brows will be thicker

3. Eye brows are not perfect and they are far from uniform.
(nor are they symmetrical if you were painting an entire face)

control but you need to be aware
of how pressure affects the line
and use it for each stroke

5. Tip: Draw a hard outline (on a separate layer!) of the basic
shape of the brow, then use it as a guide for the actual hairs.
For a feminine brow stay well
within the bounding box
For a masculine brow fill the
bounding box.

6. • Eyelashes are not straight.
They curl out from the
bottom edge of the lid.
Eyelashes:
• Thicker at the root.
• Thinner towards the tear duct
• Bottom Lashes are
smaller & finer
Eye lashes don’t always curl over the lid:
(Hardly overlapping lid at all)

7. Lashes are naturally layered. Build up the lashes using varying size brushes
