Jeff Putt of Amazon Web Services gave a presentation on storage and archiving options on AWS. He discussed how traditional on-premise storage solutions are expensive and do not scale well. AWS offers several cloud storage services like S3, EBS, and Glacier that provide scalability, flexibility and cost savings over traditional options. These services can be used for primary storage, backups, archiving and disaster recovery. AWS also provides tools like Storage Gateway that allow hybrid storage architectures between on-premise and AWS cloud storage.
