Ms. Angela’s Group 13
2. Who Are We?
We are the Anti-Corruption League,
and the goal of our organization is to
greatly reduce the amount of
corruption in the world and prevent
more corruption from taking place.
3. Why?
You may be asking, why corruption instead of more apparent things
like world hunger and clean water? This is due to corruption being
one of the main causes of hunger and lack of clean water in many
countries, which leads to more problems, including war, crime, and
general unhappiness which all come with their own negative
byproducts.
4. How It Starts
In order to stop corruption you
must first understand how it
starts. Corruption starts
because of the general want of
people, whether it be for
money, power, hunger, or
greed.
5. What Happens with Corruption?
The effects of corruption are incredibly evident around the globe at
this time. Examples such as illegal immigration, general crimes, and
war are all prevalent throughout our lives on a daily basis and it is
up to us to stop this.
6. Corruption in Venezuela and Honduras
The Issues
● Money for the people taken to
fund corrupt politicians political
campaigns
● Politicians undermine MACCIH
investigations against corruption
● Cartels buy out and bribe the legal
system keeping South American
countries in poverty or a crime
ridden state
The Solutions
● Well established countries can help
aid those of impoverished citizens
● Have well-off businesses give
surplus goods towards less fortunate
countries.
● Pressure to fix the government and
replace government officials with
strictly interviewed politicians, and
host free elections amongst the
people.

8. Bribery In North America
Bribery is a common type of corruption in North America. Most politicians use bribery as a way to gain
money and power for themselves. This causes the economy to become unbalanced.
The Issues
● In 2017, wealthy families, such as the Koch Brothers
told a Kentucky senator and a Representative that if
those controlling all three branches of government
could not lower taxes on its main sponsors, there would
be no billionaire backing of the party in the 2018
midterms.
● Even Illinois has been affected by governmental
corruption. 4 out of the last 7 Illinois governors have
been put in jail because of their corrupt actions, one
even being impeached.
● In 2012, Walmart paid $24 million in bribes to local
government and public officials in Mexico in order to
obtain permits and territory approvals to build new
stores.
The Solutions
● If and when people are caught in the
act of bribery, they deserve to be
punished somehow, whether it be in
jail or community service.
● Spreading awareness of corruption
through technology would help to
empower the public and show them
how to avoid falling into traps.
● Keeping citizens engaged on corruption
at local, national, international and
global levels would help spread
awareness throughout the world.

10. Corruption in the Middle East
In Saudi Arabia any attempt to
speak out against the government
will get you killed. So the
solution to the problem is quite
unfortunate. If the rampant
corruption does not stop then the
only solution that will make real
change will be a change of
government.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is
a monarchy in which the king
and his family are the only
people in power. Anyone who
says anything against the
government’s oppressive laws
gets jailed, or even killed.
11. Corruption in the Middle East
In Egypt, well known businesses
enjoy special privileges while the
country’s regular businesses
resort to the extremely common
practice of cheating and bribery
to get by. To make matters worse,
there are no enforced laws against
this problem, therefore the
government encourages this
corruption.
The government of Egypt can make
laws that stop the corruption in the
economy, in order to make the
government do this people need to
start to speak up.
12. Corruption in the Congo
The Issues
● People in high positions of
power violating the
constitution
● Media censorship and
restrictions
● Widespread bribery within
Congo businesses
The Solutions
● Bring the public’s attention
to the wrong doings of their
government
● Find ways to spread
information and utilize
available media sources
● Try to bring in external
intervention to rid the
government of corrupt
politicians
13. Corruption in China
China is a socialist country under the people’s democratic dictatorship, which means that
the people…
● are the masters of China, but more specifically, citizens can vote for representatives
to govern the country.
● have the right to complain and report the state personnel if they did their job badly or
broke the rules or laws.
High level officials in China bribe lower level officials. The National Government
Functionary then bribe the citizens of China and those citizens bribe citizens with more
power.
