− The list of ingredients
− The directions

So, what should you do first?
− Make the list of ingredients
− Write the quantity of each ingredient
for a number of people: usually 4 or 6.
− Write detailed instructions.

− British and American people do not use the
metrical system to measure.
− These are typical measurements in cooking:
• 1 inch = 2.54 cm
• 1 tablespoon = 15 ml
• 1 teaspoon = 5 ml
• 1 pound = 454 g
• 1 ounze (oz.) = 26 g
