2. School Building
• was built in 1913 in Art Nouveau style
• it was a school exclusively for girls, the school across was for boys
• during 1914 and 1918 used as a military base where children could stay
during the day, got food and health care
• renovated from 2008-2012
• listed as a historic building
• famous for the drinking foutains whit waterspots looking like toads.

3. School Environment
• Our school is located in the west of the 16th district of Vienna close to the
Vienna forest.
• There is a large park (Kongresspark) near our school.
• This school environment enables us to have a lot of activities in the nature
outside, but also in museums or other institutions in the center of Vienna.
• There are an indoor swimming pool and an iceskating ground close to the
school which we visit regularly as well.

4. Organisation and Population
Our school is an elementary school and a half-day institution. Students
attend classes only till midday, although some P.E. lessons are held in
the afternoon.
The after school–care has to be taken by other organisations
• 13 classes and 1 preschool class
• In total there are 327 pupils
• about 50 % are children whose first language is not German
• 28 different first languages
• The children or their parents come from 25 different countries.

5. Our Team
• 14 teachers in the classes and 2 team teachers
• 3 support teachers for language
• 1 teacher for crafts
• 1 teacher for first language sessions in Bosnia-Croatian-Serbian
• 3 support teachers
• 1 teacher for religious education (Roman Catholic) and 2 teachers for other
confessions
• 1 guidance counselor and 1 school doctor
• 1 caretaker

6. Our thematic priorities
To promote individual talents and interests we offer:
• Classes specialized in arts, P.E, music and acting
• Twice a year we stage workshops on various topics for
the whole school.
• Our pupils regularly attend cultural events and workshops
in museums.
• Additional sports courses with associations (ball games,
dancing, self-defense) are offered in the afternoons.

7. Language learning
• English lessons start in first grade.
• From third grade french classes can be opted.
• We also cooperate with a language school, that offers
english courses after classes, which are paid for by
parents.

8. Schoolpartnership details
• Successfull collaboration with our parents association for
projects and events
• Parents of our pupils accompany us during our school
events.
• Parents give financial support for school events,
especially for pupils from poor families.

9. Health an well beeing
We are participating in the following projects and activities of the
Austrian ministry of education:
• “Kinder gesund bewegen” (training for the improvement of body
consciousness)
• “Wiener Schulfruchtprogramm” (providing fruit and vegetables for
Viennese schools)
• athletics competitions
• swimming lessons for third graders
• cycling lessons and tests for fourth graders
• “Initiative Biosphärenpark Wienerwald” (biosphere reserve initiative)
• Dental health workshops
• In 2017/18 we started the project „Wasserschule“ („water school“):
Instead of sugar containing beverages only water will be drunk in
classes.

10. Health an well beeing
Activities organised by the school:
• regular healthy snacks in cooperation with parents
• taking care of a neighborhood vegetable garden
• skiing day trips
• ice skating lessons
• hiking in the Viennese forrest
• cooperation with facilities for disabled and elderly persons

11. Mental well beeing
Activities organised by the school:
• Class 3a: „Stark wie ein Tiger“ (strengthening personality and self-
consciousness)
• Class 4b: „Gewaltfreie Kommunikation für Kinder“ (non-violent
communication for children)
• Violence prevention: a comprehensive program for the continuing
education of teachers on matters of violence and addiction
prevention is startin in February
• We also have a therapy dog at the school.
