 Regarded as one of the most influential Engineer of the 20th century

high rise construction. Fazlu Rahman Khan’s Tube concept,
which uses the whole of the buildings perimeter to
simulate a thin walled tube revolutionized tall building
concepts.
 Tubular designs are very effective in resisting lateral loads
like wind loads and earthquake loads.

building height increases. Thus Tubular designs are widely
used in design as of now.
 Tubular structure has more stiffness and is economical.

emissions make it a must nowadays.

5. Gustav Eiffel
 French civil engineer and architect
 Most famous for Garabit viaduct., He made
various bridges for the French railway network
 Contributions include Eiffel Tower and Statue of liberty
 After retired from engineering , He focused on
aerodynamics and meteorology And made significant
contributions.
 He contributed to French railway networks immensely
 He is regarded as one of the pioneers in civil engineering
field

6.  France is always a birthplace of many great civil engineers
and so many modern civil engineering wonders such as
Eiffel tower Milau viaduct (The tallest bridge piers in the
world) etc….
 The giant steel firm EIFFEL was set up by him
 He executed numerous works across the globe
 His career was a result of the industrial revolution
