The Directive apples to three different areas:
A - the design and construction of recreational craft, partly completed boats, other personal watercraft and
certain components or parts mentioned by the Directive;
B - exhaust emissions produced by propulsion engines * installed on or in pleasure craft and by other personal
watercraft;
C - noise emissions produced by recreational craft with stern drive engines without integral exhausts or inboard
propulsion engines, by personal watercraft and by outboard engines and stern drive engines with integral exhaust.

offering a well-established experience in this field since 2003.
Opportunities in brief:
1 - Each Shipyard in order to sell the yacths built in Europe must affix the CE mark which is
issued by a Notified Body which controls the boat and the project.
Before the products are produced and marketed, they must, depending on their characteristics,
undergo one of the conformity assessment procedures specified in the Directive.
2 - The Chinese authorities to register the yacht in China accepts the technical standards of
CE Mark.
3 - The CE mark must also be placed on building components such as: Ignition-protected
equipment for inboard and stern drive engines, start-in-gear protection devices for outboard
engines, steering wheels, steering mechanisms and cable assemblies, fuel tanks intended for
fixed installations and fuel hoses, prefabricated hatches and portlights.
