Consiglio dal Medico (CdM) is a medical App developed by DigitalTech International, a hi-tech company with offices in Italy and Singapore. CdM has been one of the first remote medical advise Apps developed globally and still is the only one up and running in Italy. In recent months there has a growing interest on similar Apps, as they are an ideal entry point to create a digital platform to provide a wide array of medical services to both consumers and corporate, including insurers. Give a medical advice
Using the personal smartphone tablet or PC, the
doctor can answer to the questions that arrive
from users, being free to choose the amount of
time and the moment of day they wish to
dedicate to this activity. Giving a “medical advice”
is the main activity through which doctors can
make themselves known to the users
Fill-in the profile information
Using “Consiglio dal Medico” App the doctors can
complete their own detailed profile, including
previous experience, current occupation and
specialization, also they can indicate contact
details and where they can be contacted for a
traditional face-to-face medical visit
Chat with the users
Exchange messages with the user for 48 hours,
having the possibility of answering using both PC
and App at the time of convenience. The
possibility to use the platform as means of
interacting with one’s own patients by providing a
code which identifies the doctor
Create specialized medical content
Besides answering the users’ questions and
interacting with them via chat, doctors can also
propose informative contents regarding their
area of expertise. We are enthusiastically about
creating new partnerships in order to further enrich
the services we provide and obviously share our
income with the ones that decide to contribute

7. o “Consiglio dal Medico” is a tool which allows one to search for the doctor based
on specialization, location and evaluation given by the users with whom the doctor has
interacted
o The possibility of consulting a detailed profile of each doctor which contains previous
experience, publications and an indication of how to contact the doctor in order to
program a medical visit
o Each doctor has an associated “score” which is visible in the profile page, score
which is updated on a daily basis and is calculated by taking into consideration the
user’s evaluations and the answering frequency and activity

into account user’s evaluations and answering frequency
o We strongly believe in the “ultimate
question”, which is the key element of
the Net Promoter Score approach,
developed in the US and now already
present in those companies which place
a lot of value on the client’s needs

o The iOS / Android app allows users to book
a video consultation with a doctor or a
therapist, exchange photo or text messages,
data tracking and personal and medical data
storing (ie. family, medication history,
allergies); order testing also available
o In January 2016 Babylon has raised US$25
million from professional investors

Babylon is now planning to start expanding abroad
o For unlimited access to doctors, users pay around $7
(4.99 pounds) per month in the UK and $8.60 (7.99
euros) per month in Ireland. One session with a
therapist or specialist costs $70.50 (49 pounds) in the
UK.
o Shortly after launching, in February 2015, the company
had 5,000 users. Babylon now covers about 250,000
lives with 150,000 active users.
o While consumers are able to get the service directly,
Babylon also offers it via employers. Some of the
employers and payers that are using Babylon include
Citigroup, Sky, MasterCard, Mercer, Bupa, and Aviva.
