OBJECTIVE (broad function, scope and purpose for the position)
• Plan and Run projects with some support with impact on technology, organization/people, structures and
processes in order to optimize performance and increase customer value by improving safety, quality, delivery
and cost.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (outline job duties and responsibilities):
• Plan and run projects within Alfa Laval according to PROMAL, DMAIC and OD Project Excellence
• Implement existing concepts, processes and tools
• Participate as an active team member in meetings
• Participate in competence team meetings run by OD Competence Owners
• Follow up on the complete project specification; including objectives, deliverables, time plan and cost
ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENTS (level of functional responsibility, relationships, level of direction
received, and ability to initiate work):
• Reports Operations Development Manager, US Region
• Shall be confident and capable to develop and maintain effective relationships with:
o OD Competence Owners, OD Managers and OD Project Managers and Specialists
o Factory Managers & Unit Managers
o Support functions (Finance, HR, etc.)
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
• Overall responsibly for the project performance in terms of on time, on cost and with quality
• Control, approve and purchase within approved project specification and investment frame (CBA)
KEY COMPETENCIES NEEDED
Project management competence:
• Introductory project management training, i.e. PROMAL (introduction) and 4 Principles (basic)
• Ability to, with support, successfully run projects with regional (e.g. EU, CN, IN, US) project scope
o Scoping, breaking down, milestone planning, stake holder management
o Low technical or organizational complexity
o Basic leadership and negotiation skills
2. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED
Education (degree or years) and/or Certification/Registration:
• Master of science or equivalent experience
• Introductory problem solving training, i.e. DMAIC (basic, self-study)
• ALPS basic training
Type and Length of Experience:
• 2 years of relevant experience from production/manufacturing company
• Alfa Laval / Operations concepts and strategies

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
• Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use):
o Travel primarily by car/plane/train.
• Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure):
o Environmental factors vary by site visited.
o Safety regulations to be followed at sites.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (i.e. travel, motor vehicle use, etc.)
• Travel, up to 40% to support sites. Almost all travel is within the US; however, there may be times when
international travel is required to other manufacturing sites or facilities.
