The electrical power is almost exclusively generated, transmitted and distributed in the form of ac because of economical consideration but for operation of most of the electronic devices and circuits, dc supply is required. Dry cells and batteries can be used for this purpose. No doubt, they have the advantages of being portable and ripple free but their voltages are low, they need frequent replacement and are expensive in comparison to conventional dc power supplies.

The electrical power is almost exclusively generated, transmitted and distributed in the form of ac because of
economical consideration but for operation of most of the electronic devices and circuits, dc supply is required.
Dry cells and batteries can be used for this purpose. No doubt, they have the advantages of being portable and
ripple free but their voltages are low, they need frequent replacement and are expensive in comparison to
conventional dc power supplies.
4. HOW IT WORKS
Voltage Step down Process (AC to DC):
The voltage would down by the transformer. The
working principle of transformer is very simple. It
depends upon Farada’s law , mutual induction between
two or more winding is responsible for transformation
action in an electric transformer.
5. HOW IT WORKS (CONTINUED)
Rectification process
It will be accomplished by using a diode. A diode is an
electrical component that conducts current in one
direction and blocks current from flowing in the other
direction. How it Works
6. HOW IT WORKS (CONTINUED)
Filtering process:
For filtering our output current we may use a capacitor.
A capacitor is commonly used for filtering and store
charge in it.
7. HOW IT WORKS (CONTINUED)
Load: As a load we used LED light for our project.
LED Resistor
Resistor: Resistor is an electrical component that
reduce the electric current.
12. CONCLUSION:
The power supply that has been designed provides a good alternative to a more expensive power supply. The
power supply has few components, covers a small area, and is very simple in design.
