I am a Post Graduate with 2 years of experience in Transport Planning, 1
year of experience in Highway Design and Urban Streets and 1 year
experience as Site Engineer in Pre Engineered Buildings.
With Arcadis I have played diverse roles. I am currently working as an
Assistant Transport Planner. I had a role of project manager for a short
duration of 6 months during which I have led urban street design projects
before entering into the field of Transport Planning.
I have led in execution of projects as site engineer for Pre Engineered
Buildings, and I am conversant with preparation of bill of quantities for
highway, cost estimates and tender documents.
I have led projects which involved design and preparation of drawings. I
have expertise with the design software packages like, AutoCad Civil-3D,

Project Summary
2015 July to
Present
Arcadis
Assistant Transport Planner
1) Lower Thames Crossing Stage 3 (LTC-V3), Halcrow Hyder
Joint Venture (HHJV), Highways England, UK (Ongoing)
Lower Thames Crossing is a scheme by Highways England to
provide a new crossing across River Thames to reduce the
traffic demand on the existing Dartford Crossing which is
catering traffic over capacity. The new crossing is expected to
reduce the major amount of traffic generated from the regions
East of England which wants to travel south and traffic from
region South East which wants to travel north without entering
into Dartford Crossing, thus by largely reducing the traffic on
congested Dartford Crossing
I am currently involved in the project and undertaking following
tasks
1) To develop zoning for the network.
2) To develop matrix for the new zoning system.
2) Smart Motorway Project M23, Halcrow Hyder Joint Venture
(HHJV), Highways England, UK
SMP M23 is a smart motorway scheme by Highways England
in which M23 Mainline between Junction 8 to Junction 10A is
being converted into 4 lanes from the present scenario of 3
lanes. The merges and diverges of the On slips and Off slips
along these junctions are also being modified taking into
consideration of catering the future traffic.
I was involved in the project with the following tasks.
3) To develop the network in Saturn.
4) Calibration and Validation of the Model.
5) Forecast Scheme Coding.
3) A57/A628 Trans-Pennine Upgrade Programme, Highways
England, UK
The Trans-Pennine is a scheme being proposed by Highways
England in order to reduce the congestion and journey times
between Manchester and Sheffield along the Trans Pennine
route comprising of the A57 Mottram moor link road, A628, A61
and A616.
I was involved in the development of Journey time validation
sheet and in carrying out the calibration-validation of the model.

4) A63 Castle Street Improvement Study, Halcrow Hyder Joint
Venture (HHJV), Highways England, UK
A63 Castle Street is a dual carriageway and forms a link
between the M62 Motorway and the Humber Bridge to the
west and the Port of Hull to the east. A63 Castle Street is
catering daily traffic in excess of 54,000 vehicles. A travel
demand model needs to be developed to understand the flow
of traffic into the study area of Kingston upon Hull. The project
is currently in Stage 3 assessment and finalized option viz.
creating an underpass and widening of road at selected road
segments is to be tested.
I was involved in this project as an Assistant Engineer. Task in
the project involved in the following area
1) Extracting Cruise Speed from the GIS data using Access
software to use in the network building.
2) Transfer speed to the ITN links using MapInfo software and
give a sense check for the speed using ITO speed map and
speed boards.
3) Network Development which involved building the Network in
Saturn

Arcadis
Urban Street Design Engineer
Only few categorised projects is briefed below
1) Traffic Management and Traffic Diversion Drawings:
Design Input and Supervision in preparation of drawings,
Transport for London (TfL), UK
Transport for London (TfL) selected few internal roads for
rehabilitation work for which TTM drawings were to be
provided to the construction team on site to carry out the work
safely.
As an assistant Design Engineer, I was involved in
1) Preparation in selection of diversion routes for the traffic and
also to give inputs to cad engineers to prepare traffic
management drawings. The project involved following
objectives
2) To design and generate drawings for Traffic Management
and the Diversion plan for the road rehabilitation work.
3) Traffic Management drawings was done using the standards
from Red Book to arrange the temporary road sign and
safety equipment’s to be used to carry out the required work
4) Diversion plan includes determining the diversion routes
available and its suitability to cater the diverted traffic
without affecting much of the existing present condition and
to show the diversion plans on the drawings in detail.

2) Footway Schemes: Design Input and Supervision in
preparation of drawings and Civil-3D Modelling Site
Clearance and General Arrangement Drawings, CVU, UK
Preliminary and detailed design drawings were prepared for a
lot of different roads as a sub-contractor for CVU. As an
Assistant Design Engineer, I was involved in to set the time
line to execute the required work and budget from the GEC
end, and also provide the inputs to cad engineers to prepare
the preliminary drawings.
Civil-3D Modelling
As a part of detailed design, I was involved in producing
detailed design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Detailed design
included to generate existing surface and the existing Channel
and Top of Kerb profile. To locate the region that needs to be
designed to meet the required standards as per streetscape
guidance and DMRB manual.
3) Contra-Flow Cycle Tracks: Design Input and Supervision in
preparation of drawings, Transport for London (TfL), UK
A project for Transport for London (TfL) to design cycle tracks
in a reverse direction in one way motorway traffic lane. As a
part of this project, I was involved in to generate Site
Clearance and General Arrangement drawings in detail for the
contra-flow cycle track as per the comments received from UK.
To design new cycle-lane tracks keeping in mind the safety of
the cyclists, the parking width of motorway and minimum width
of cycle tracks considerations if the road was residential and
also strategically positioning of contra-flow cycle track
informatory signs to prevent any confusion and accidents
along with the decluttering of the existing road furniture’s if
required.
4) CS-7 Cycle Super Highway Junction Design: Civil-3D
Modelling, Transport for London (TfL), UK
A project by Transport for London (TfL) to design the cycle
friendly junctions in order to encourage the cycling and also to
prevent any mishaps at the junction.
Few of the several existing junctions were selected and
modelled using Civil-3D modelling software. I was involved in
Modelling of junctions, designing for kerb height and channel
line as per design standards of “London Cycle Network Design
Manual” to fix the kerb height and ramp slope for the cycle
track. The “Streetscape Guidance Manual” was used to fix the
slope of the ramp for the motorways and also in design;
considerations were made to prevent water logging at the base
of the ramp. The major part of the design was to keep a
smooth transition at the location where the cycle track and
ramp of the raised table met to have an easy manoeuvre for
motorists and cyclists.
