The goal of the Open Source Satellite Programme is to make Space more accessible through the development of an open source microsatellite platform and community. The team’s experiences in the small satellite industry, driving and witnessing the growth in ideas for space-enabled businesses and technological advances, has led us to conclude that, despite recent developments, the industry is still in its infancy. Our goal is to stimulate the responsible and sustainable use and exploitation of space and to enhance the capabilities of small satellite solutions to address an ever-increasing range of applications and services.
