According to our most recent statistics, Vietnam is starting to have a
switch from outsourcing to product development. As a result of this
trend, developers want to advance their career by being more innovative.
Skilled developers spend very little of their time searching for jobs on
websites but instead of finding it through online communities, events
and social networks.
I've realized there's changing in IT recruitment in many regions, a lot of IT
companies have also changed their games as there is an increasing in
developer recruiting. Recently, more and more companies have been
moving their development department to Vietnam.
In this quarter, we have been partnering with hundreds of top IT
recruiters and conducting a deep research with thousands of developers
in our database in order to understand their needs. Let's explore!

we decide to we conducted this survey
from 2 different perspectives, HR and
Developer who are working in IT industry.
Source
From 2nd January to 15th June of 2017, we has conducted a
survey to collect thousands of answers from Developer and HR
specialist in IT community. On the other hand, we also use the
data from Topdev, which has built up for more than 3 years, to
achieve the highest credibility and accuracy.

Growth significantly over the 5 years
The growth rate is still increasing without a sign of slowing down and it is expected to reach the demand for 350,000 developers
before 2018. However, there is only 200,000 is available in the market right now, which marks a shortage of human resource
supply in the market.

Approximately 60% of the IT jobs require Senior level
In the past 15 years, IT industry is all about outsourcing. However, there is a shift as more technology companies focus on developing
their own products and offering innovative services. As a result, the demand for higher skill level and experience developers also
jumping in recent years. Based on the data from 250 business customers of TopDev, the IT HR and headhunter prefer developers with
more than 2 years experience.
