Case Study
Topic: PV Modules
10
 You work as a senior technician at a solar plant with
Preyas. He was involved in an incident with a juvenile
during the last team you handled together. Up to this
point, your team’s reputation has always been good, with
both staff and participants. Over the past several years
you’ve formed a good working relationship with Preyas
as each of you have become familiar with the other’s
style. It really came down to how Preyas addressed on
the group participants during an activity. When a client
started yelling at the whole Team, Preyas yelled at them
in return. The language was somewhat questionable. You
felt, the wording was, in effect, an insult directed at the
youth. When Preyas told them they were, “acting
retarded like a crazy person in a You Tube clip.”

11
When you confronted your co-facilitator after the
team about how inappropriate the comments were,
the conversation deteriorated to a point where
Preyas insulted you. You walked away saying “I
won’t be treated like that” and “I will report this to
your supervisor.” The people you work with have
questions regarding this incident; there will also be
questions about this staff member’s actions, as part
of an internal investigation.

Honour your working hours
Topic: PV Modules
16
 Working nine to five doesn’t mean that you arrive at nine
and leave at five. It means you work from nine to five.
 Five minutes may not seem like much to you, but it may
seem like stealing to your manager or CEO, especially a
small or a busy office.
 Spending 10 minutes on a personal phone call is only a
small part of an eight-hour day, but 10 minutes a day
equals 50 minutes a week-almost an hour of unproductive
time.
 If you arrive at a meeting late your actions say, “my time
is more valuable than yours; you aren’t important to me.”
 Those few extra minutes may make a big difference in a
way you are considered for promotions or raises.
 Be honest to yourself
 How many hours do you really work?

for outcomes in your professional life.
