• This trend has seen a staggering rise post the pandemic due
to the world turning digital and the rise of AI.

consumer spending was significantly increased. For instance, the average
consumer's spending on Alibaba increased by 15% as a result of adopting their
voice search device Tmall Genie which was also connected to their app's search
engine (Papers).

can improve the overall user experience by providing accurate and relevant
information through voice-activated assistants. This would lead to increased
customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Increased convenience and access to instant information - AI Voice Search
provides a hands-free way for consumers to get access to any information at
any time, which has led to increased adoption of this digital trend.
• Transformed Online Shopping - The emergence of AI Voice Search has caused

• TripAdvisor's aim was to maintain engagement post the pandemic when travel plans were at a halt and
customers were not willing to spend, by improving customer experience and increasing touchpoints.
• TripAdvisor launched two voice assistant campaigns on Alexa and Google Assistant for Orlando and Abu
Dhabi. These campaigns targeted users in their homes, where they spent most of their time post the
pandemic and were able to use their voices to search for trips online.
• Users engaged in a conversation with the voice assistants and interacted with itineraries. The experience
was designed to be seamless and convenient for users.
• They made use of website integration where the voice assistants provided content from TripAdvisor's
website, including reviews, allowing users to access information in a new and personalized way.
• The campaign was a success, with users spending over 4 minutes on average engaging with them and
answering approximately seven prompts. The Visit Orlando campaign saw a combined engagement time
of 450 hours, and the Abu Dhabi campaign saw over 1,300 hours of engagement.
• TripAdvisor also won the Drum Award for "Most Effective Use of AI/Machine Learning" as recognition for
the success of these voice search campaigns.

• Walmart partnered with Google to implement voice-enabled grocery shopping through Google
Assistant-powered platforms, including smart speakers, displays, smartphones, and smartwatches.
• The collaboration leveraged voice search to enhance the e-commerce experience for Walmart's
customers.
• They could just ask Google Assistant to “Hey Google, Add products to my Walmart cart".
• Walmart's focused on conversational commerce as their strategy and explored the impact of
conversational AI through voice search on e-commerce and integrating voice AI with its other platforms.
• The aim was to create an exceptional experience for customers, providing them with more than just a
shopping transaction through the Walmart app.
• Therefore, Walmart was able to redefine the shopping experience by using AI, allowing customers to
select products based on their specific needs without human interaction and just using their voice.
• For Walmart, AI Voice search offered convenience and speed to the customers, increasing their customer
satisfaction in comparison to using the traditional search methods on their smartphone devices.

AI-based Voice Search is an emerging digital trend, and with the
continuous power of AI taking over the world, it would continue to see
increased demand with companies implementing this trend in their
operations and strategic marketing. This trend has emerged as a
response to people's desire for instant information and the convenience
of multitasking in our modern world. The rapid adoption of smart
devices like iPhones, Android phones, smart speakers, and virtual
assistants (such as Siri, Alexa, Cortana, and Google Home) has increased
the popularity of voice search, changing the way people interact with
technology and conduct online searches while allowing brands to use
these voice search assistants to boost their marketing efforts.
