Meaning:
These are the industrial undertakings having fixed investment in plant and
machinery, whether held on lease basis or hire purchase basis not exceeding Rs. 1
Crore.
Small scale industries (SSIs) also known as MSMEs which are defined &
categorized in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006.

Direct relation between the workers and the employers
Easy management
Freedom of work
Direct relation between the customers and the products
Less possibilities of strikes and lockouts.
6. DISADVANTAGES:
High cost of production
Less use of machines
Lack of division of labor
Difficulty in getting loans
Wastage of by-products.
7. CONCLUSION:
Finally I would like to conclude that more and more SSIs should be set up so that
each and every person gets a job (from a farmer to an unemployed or highly qualified
person) and by doing this we can reduce unemployment problem in the country.
